Thinking about a new truck and the dealership has a 2014 Raptor on the lot. Can you tow with the Raptor though? Would it be a huge mistake trading in the 2010 F250 diesel?

DON'T DO IT! I will hunt you down. Smile

Your PSD is 10x the truck the Raptor will ever be as a tow vehicle. The Raptor is rated for 8000; your 250 will tow up to 24000 (5th wheel).

What do you want the Raptor to do, primarily? They're fairly capable off road out of the box, but they SUCK on road and they get terrible gas mileage.

an important note, if you have single width garage doors, the raptor won't fit.

Bambamski, do you want a new truck, or do you want a new toy? Big difference there.

IMO, just buy something fun and keep what works. I was in the same boat. I've got a platinum '13 f150 and wanted something more fun. I drool over my neighbor's raptor. I wanted one really bad for a loooong time. However, if I got one, I'd want the 6.2L, and it gets like 7mpg if you don't drive like a grandma. I ended up just buying a one owner '12 Porsche 911 to toy around with and get my fun fix. This way, I keep a truck I know works well and fills my needs, and if I decide I've had my fun, I can always sell the other car.

Just my .02. I'm not saying buy a Porsche, but I am saying consider buying a third car that will fill whatever itch you feel you need to scratch.

<<<SOOOO jealous, Chatt.... LOVE the 911.....LOVE that car....every rendition.

Think Bam already has a Corvette as a 3rd fun car, unless he dumped it.

So with both those things said, keep the truck, trade the 'Vette and get a 911.... Laughing Actually, I am kinda in love with the new Corvette Stingray as well.

There will be a new Raptor out in a year or two and you will have the old body style if you buy that 2014.

On the stereotypical side, I'd say they're the Corvette of trucks.

I had an '07 911s last year that I bought to see if I'd like the p-car 2+2 styling. I got rid of it after a few months because it had tan interior (which I did not care for), and because I fell in love with the new (991) body style.

I bided my time and looked for months and months until I found this one. It's a '12 911s, black on black, with full leather, pdk, 13k miles, one owner, with a clear 3m shield on the entire front half of the car. It popped up in Princeton, NJ and I flew up there and bought it the following day. It was a long 800 mile drive home.

Here's a picture of my first 911 and a few more of my new one.

some of them are - the extra cab w/ the xgames type graphics just scream douchebag. but solid color 4 door doesn't look drastically different from a normal f150 4 door.

Agreed. I can tell them apart, but I wouldn't expect my wife to. I think they can be a bit of a sleeper if you keep the "look at me" crap to a minimum.

Chattwake, beautiful man. Looks like trouble. Twisted Evil

I just bought a new truck (new to me anyway). My buddy owns a lot and had a '12 Tundra Limited with 23k miles and a ton of upgrades. I wasn't looking for a Tundra, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. Glad I did.. couldn't be happier with it.

Churchy - how bad is the gas milage on it? I really like Toyota and currently drive a Tacoma. I want a full size truck, but the 13 mpg turns me off on the Tundra.

I still have the Vette so a third fun car isn't what I'm looking for. The 911 would be great but I don't really want to spend additional dough to buy kind of what I already have. I guess you could say the same thing about my truck... The thing is I don't love the 2010 F250. Sure it does the job. I actually like my 2003 F350 better than my present truck.

I'm really trying to figure out if I need the 250 or if I can go F150. We tow through the mountains a fair amount so I really think I would miss having the diesel torque when towing. I don't drive the truck around a ton but when I need to, the F250 is freakin big. It doesn't fit in any parkaid downtown.

The Raptor is out... Still don't know what I want to do.

They make white Corvettes in addition to the yellow and red ones. I think the crew cab Raptors sans graphics look really cool. The Z06 Corvette is hard to beat for the money, but I still won't be owning either.

You will miss the diesel if you tow much. I went from a diesel to a 590HP/590TQ F150 and I'd still prefer a diesel towing. An F150 is easier to park than than an F250, but still nothing like a car or normal size SUV. In tight parking spots, you'll still be backing in or doing a 7 point turn to park.

590hp F150??

what the hell is that? Everyone is giving me the wrong answer hahaha which I pretty much suspected.

I guess i'll look around for a F250. I don't think I want to go brand new 13 or maybe a 14... I don't think anything has changed for those trucks like the F 150 change for 2015.

The Super Duty redesign is coming in a year or two. Photos of the next generation are already out.

'13 and '14 are good. Much better than your 2010 6.4.

Depending on what you're towing, the 1/2 tons have pretty respectable tow ratings and will tow just fine, but not as good as a newer diesel.

Not a fan of the new Super Duty. Might get a '16 F250 due to aesthetics alone...

don't like the look either. I agree it looks like a Chev which I don't like the look of. Can't really describe why I don't love the look, it doesn't look beefy? I don't know The Chev trucks don't look good until they get a bit of a lift. Without the lift.. they look like the above truck.

Too much chrome, but that may be the chrome package. Small tires and small fender gaps make it look like a low rider. The elephant ear mirrors are too prominent.

If you change the door handles to body color, go to smaller mirrors or at least body color accents, tone down the grill, go a little bigger and wider on the tires and lift a couple of inches for more height and fender gap, it will look a lot better. In 4 years, everyone that likes the current Super Duty will probably think they look great.

I dont like either body styles of the square wheel chevys, or the new ford trucks. Its pretty sad when the Ram is the best looking of the 3 imo

I don't think it's sad that Ram is the best looking right now.

Ram has been putting out a pretty decent 1/2 ton product for the last 5-6 years IMO. I have no need for a truck at the moment, but if I did it would be hard for me to buy anything other than a Ram 1500 with the CRD. Heck, even the "base" 3.6l does a damn good job in these trucks. Plus the interiors are quite nice, and the exterior styling isn't overdone like the GM twins or the new Fords.

I have a 2nd gen cummins ('99) with 120k on it and just had a 3rd tranny put in it.Granted 2g's are infamous for transmission failure especially the 4sp auto's, its a little rediculous. Other than that its rock solid and has only needed routine services

The new Titan is supposed to have a diesel option. That might make Toyota finally offer a diesel in the Tundra. I'd have to look seriously at that.
