We got a couple Del Tacos around the OKC area in the last couple months. It's nice to be able to have a little piece of SoCal novelty food without having to travel out there. Smile

Decided to have some DT for lunch today. Life is good.

Is this the Del Taco you're talking about? The quality of food reminded me of what they served for school lunches. That was a few years ago though.

Yep. It isn't, nor should it be thought of as quality food. But, it's a particular style and taste that we liked from growing up in So Cal.

I've never been to Del Taco. I don't think I've been a in a Taco Bell since high school. There's a Tex-Mex fast food joint called Rosa's Cafe that's pretty good food. It started in west Texas and has expanded into the Metroplex area and one restaurant in Temecula, CA. I would say it ranks as decent for non-fast Tex-Mex.

I still love Taco Bell...

...and Moe's

...and Chipotle

...and Qdoba

...and legit Mexican taco stands.

Seriously it's pretty hard to go wrong with Tacos/Mexican. Laughing

Chipoootlle, Qdoba, and the fast food joints = GringoMex. They have their place, but that place is not in my face.

The best joints are typically more run down - and every time you see the same people working there (family). Some taco trucks are pretty decent too. One of the best places for mexi-breakfast is across the street from my office. It's literally a little spot carved out of the Chevron ExtraMile store. They make killer breakfast burritos. You just never know until you try it....
