I am looking to purchase my 1st dedicated wake boat coming up and had a few questions for you who have experiance with the few options i am finding it hard to choose from. Im looking to spend 30-40k and have done my research and like these best for my budget.

05-07 Wakesetter
05-08 SAN 210,228 230……
09-11 A22
I've also seen a few older x-2 , rairly an x-star, x-30
other..???

Im interested in their build quality, ride, wake characteristics and of course the bells and whistles of each . Id love to be able to compare these side by side but being their older and i will be driving a good ways to look at/ buy these its unrealistic to demo them all.

Im going to be mainly sticking to wake and surfing so huge poppy wake is preferred. really the best of the options i have.

All info and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Check out axiswakeboardboats.com for more information on the Axis boats. There you can find and ask specific questions about the axis line and get some pics of the wake when sac'd out with the plug and play.

I have been behind a number of the older Malibu boats and when sac'd they can throw a great wake also.

Either of the Malibu/Axis boats and probably all the others you look at are going to need extra ballast to get the wake where you want it.

I would lean more towards the V-drive model boats for surfing.

The Axis A22 will generate the best wake out of that list. I owned two. Look for a 2011 if you can.

I own a 2013 A22 and even with the stock tanks, the wake is impressive. I love this boat. I bought it about 3 months before Axis announced surfgate, but I added two Ronix 8.3 800 lb bags and have no complaints.

Sure I can't change sides like I would with surfgate, but it is not a terribly big deal to me. It takes 3 minutes to fill/drain the bags if I need to switch.
