|
|
Our second wedding anniversary is happening while we are in the middle of a vacation to Tennessee.
We have the following confirmed:
August 26 to 29 - at my parent's Chalet between Pigeon Forge and Galtinburg.
August 29 to September 1 - ?????
September 1 to 5 - back at my parent's chalet
September 5 to 8 - at a different chalet
I need helping picking a spot for the labour day week (question marks above). We've spent tonnes of time around the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area so kind of want to get away from there. Maximum we really want to travel is maybe 4 hours (each way). Willing to head East, West or South (not North).
We'd like to keep in pretty low cost and will have our 6 month old baby with us. In the past, we've enjoying Inn-type places or resort-type hotels. We're homebodies and are happy to hang out at a resort if it has enough activities (golf for me, spa for her).
Any suggestions or thoughts to help guide my search? _________________ Impossible is not a a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.

From there I would look at Asheville, Greeneville, Stone Mountain, one of the Appalachian resorts in North GA, or somewhere around Lake Lanier in GA. You could find plenty do in Nashville as well. I think outside of going to Nashville, the others may be higher cost than you want to pay though. |

It was between Nashville and Asheville and we booked a hotel in Asheville.
We hope to do some of the Blue Ridge Parkway, I'd like to get in a round of golf and we will check out the Biltmore Estate.
In addition to the comments above, thanks to haugy and JT09. _________________ Impossible is not a a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.

Asheville is amazing...Its beer city USA (no joke). There are more breweries per square mile than anywhere else in the US. There are dozens of breweries, cool bars, art festivals, great restaurants, beautiful scenery. Its one of my favorite places in the US to visit. If you want some info about it let me know. My mom grew up there so I've been there more times than I can count.
In personal opinion you are wasting your time doing the Baltimore and golf. Only do these things if you are in a SOFE (significant other forced event). Get on a brewz cruise and visit all the breweries..I hate shopping and you can spend a full day messing around downtown looking at amazing stuff.
If you want to drive 2 hours you can hit the new alpine roller coaster...
