Got an awesome phone call yesterday afternoon. My buddy who has a condo down in Scottsdale was able to get 8 tickets to the Superbowl this year. So we have a place to stay for free and free tickets to the Superbowl....

So I'm going to the Superbowl! It was funny, when we built the home theater this year I was thinking I was going to have to host a kick ass super bowl party at the house. Watch the superbowl on the 110 inch screen. However, being there will be a bit better I'm thinking Very Happy .

Just booked my flights. Even out that far they're not cheap.. oh well.

Buddy just said we need to go to the waste management tourny as well.. Which is a great idea. I've never been to a golf tourny and from what i've heard this is the one to go to.

I haven't been to the Waste Management tournament, but I went to The Masters last month and it is definitely worth going. I'm not a golfer, but I had a great time.

I went to the WM tourney in Feb. It was a great time. In fact, I was going to recommend that when I saw your post saying you were going. There were 200K people on the course the Sat. we were there. That area is going to be crazy with both that and the Super Bowl going on at the same time. You will see more hot ass that weekend than the last 10 years combined.

I went in 13 on Friday. I was at 15th hole when Tiger cheated, he should have been DQ'd. Nobody on the course said a word about it. In fact we went over to 16 when he finished 15 and everyone thought the roar meant he was leading.

The place is Bubb Rubb believable, a must do if you are a golf fan.

ohsix, Do you have a hook up on Master's tickets or what? I apply for the random draw tickets every year for practice and real rounds and never get tickets. Last year I had everyone in my office apply for tickets and no one got picked for tickets. I smell a conspiracy!

K-wood Kid,

No just a shitpot of demand. I also look forward to my annual rejection notice Laughing

Funny thing is patrons don't pay much for tickets, but can sell each day for over $1000 Shocked

eeven73, Yea I think they're like $100 a ticket when you buy them so that is a nice profit, but I would much rather go experience the Masters.

I know a couple people who seem to get tickets every other year or so. I think it is crazy that you have to give them your social security number to apply for tickets. Do you think they use that to weed out the bad eggs like us?

I think it is to assure 1 application per person.

Last year I went with a group of guys that bought a package through Main Event Promotions. It included 2-4 bedroom houses, a dinner chef at the houses, transportation to and from the airport (we flew into Aiken, SC), and to and from Augusta each day, and 8 passes for Tues-Thursday. I don't know what they paid, but I'm sure it wasn't cheap. The promotion company sources the passes from people who bought them legitimately.

This year, I bought a package for 4 people Tues-Thurs. It includes 1-4 bedroom house, valet parking at Augusta National, access to a hospitality tent just outside the club which serves breakfast, drinks, and appetizers throughout the day, and passes for Tues-Thurs. Cost was ~$6600 per person. I'm sure they buy scalped passes as well.

I know several guys that put in for the ticket lottery every year and none of them have ever gotten a ticket. One of those guys works at Exxon in Houston and there are several hundred of them there that put in for the ticket lottery and he said none of them have gotten a ticket yet.

I've been told that once you get a ticket, you can keep it for life, but when you die it goes back into the lottery system. I met a lady last year at The Masters that had gone every year for the last 30 years because her father had tickets. Her father died last year and her family lost their tickets, so she had to buy them on the secondary market.

ohsix, I appreciate the information. I am going to have to remember to check out Main Event Promotions when I have the money to take my dad out there.
