So awesome that the two teams that wouldnt have been in the BCS Championship won yesterday.
THIS. TCU/Baylor aside, this is already 100X better than the BCS.
Why the TCU/Baylor qualifier? Baylor already showed us why they don't belong in the top 4. TCU rolled Ole Miss, but does anyone really think they could beat the Ohio State or Oregon teams that won yesterday? I don't have any doubt that the best 2 teams are in the NC game.
If you stretch to an 8 team playoff, you'll have a 7th or 8th place team make the NC game once in a while, and you may even have a 15th or 16th place team make it to the NC if you stretched to a 16 team playoff.
I was happy to see FSU and Bama lose, but I'm really pretty neutral on the top 8 this year. If anything, I'm actually a little bit of a Baylor fan, but I don't think any of the 5th-8th teams were shafted by not having a playoff spot.
ohsix, Baylor did what now? They lost to a very good MSU team, and by 1 point and should have been the BigXII champ based on head to head. TCU's only loss was to the BigXII champ Baylor. Baylor's only loss was to a mediocre WVA. Either "co-champ" had as good of an argument as tOSU who lost to a mediocre VaTech. tOSU only got the nod because of the curbstomp they layed on Wisc and clearly made the most of it.
Realistically, the fact that the B12 doesn't (can't) have a championship game screwed Baylor and TCU out of any chance to make the dance. _________________

My heart was racing all night long and the 4th quareter nearly killed me I think. Bama's punter was their MVP. The NC should be a hell of a game. I'm trying to keep myself from looking for tickets.

Baylor gave up a 20 point lead to Michigan State in the 4th quarter. NC caliber teams can't have meltdowns like that. tOSU beat Alabama with a 3rd string QB and a pretty young team by most standards.
tOSU's loss came in their 2nd game of the season. TCU and Baylor lost in the middle of their schedule. The Big12 sucked this year outside of Baylor and TCU. tOSU didn't have the toughest schedule, but they did beat that Michigan State team.
I just don't see how anyone can say Baylor or TCU should be in the NC game after yesterday.
Nobody can say that Baylor or TCU should be in the NC game. I'm absolutely not saying that - of course not.
But there is a very valid argument for either being in the 4 team playoff as the #4 instead of tOSU. I have no idea what the outcomes beyond them being in the slot tOSU got in the Sugar. _________________

Aubs, agree on wanting the Ducks to win. They have been so good (and so fun to watch) over the last 5 years that I feel they deserve a title.
I'm lol'ing at all the mentions VT is getting just because of OSU. The most mediocre of seasons we've had in the last 15 years is getting us more air time than some of the 10 win, conference champ seasons we've had. OSU may have improved substantially since that game, but so did VT their last 2 games. I'm looking forward to next year (and the rematch at Lane Stadium!)
Very happy that Bama is out. The look on Saban's face was awesome in the closing minutes. He knew he was beat. That said, GO DUCKS!!!!!! _________________ Work SUX!
wtf oregon? you kill us w/ more color combinations than seems humanly possible, and when you get to the biggest game in your program's history, you go 1960's tv. weak sauce all around.

Its an attempt to balance the karmic scale with the highlighter yellow socks they wore last time. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian?

Pink and black uniforms did not bring us good luck earlier this season. Here's to hoping that the monochrome look doesn't have the same bad juju. _________________ wakeboards wakeboarding
that's actually pretty damn impressive. i'd say harsin is fitting in nicely. what a run of head coaches you guys have had. 4 coaches over the last 17 years, and you've had double digit wins in 13 of those years, including an undefeated season, with not a single losing season.

From a local blog:
So the Golden Era run is 16 seasons now. Boise State's record is 177-31, which roughly equates to an average record of 11-2. The record on the blue turf: 100-4. You can still count the losses on one hand (Washington State, Boston College, TCU, San Diego State). The Broncos’ bowl record is now 10-and-5. There have been 12 conference championships, 13 10-win seasons, and—with the victory in Glendale—eight 12-win seasons. That ties Alabama for the most 12-win campaigns in modern college football history. And it doesn't count the one Boise State had at the Division I-AA level (13-2 in 1994).
great read & vids about nate boyer - a 34 yr old deep snapper at texas, who is a green beret. make sure you watch both vids - the 2nd one about a hairy firefight this summer is good stuff.
We're becoming QB Transfer U. Can't blame him for transferring after losing his starting job and the potential of Kyler Murray coming in. I think the move was expected.
y'all are going to be straight f*ed if murray flips to either ut or ou. or goes mlb (which he should). that will leave you w/ only 1 scholarship qb on the roster.

wakeboarderdave1, seeing a lot of chatter about miller to texas. that would be f*ing glorious.
There's been chatter of him going lots of places; Oregon, Duke, FSU. Considering that he can't throw a ball until fall practice starts I highly doubt he goes anywhere. If he does end up going somewhere I hope he kills it, unless it's Michigan. _________________ RIP DLS.

oh, i think he's absolutely going somewhere. why on earth would he come back to tosu w/ all the success the other 2 have had? i know barrett probably won't be healthy enough to play until about midway through the season, but still. that's too many good qb for one team.
