The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily.
the funny thing is, based on the description above, the rankings are f*ed up. how does a team that projects to 9.7 wins (bama), rank higher than a team that projects to win 11.3 (fsu)?
It looks like that's a simulated ranking if the teams listed were to win out the rest of their schedule because it takes SOS into account. I can't see a 9-3 Georgia being ranked over an 11-1 FSU at the end of the season.
To O6 and Jt, always the $EC nuts...I shake my head at it at this point. O6, now will ride that....4 years ago, would have been saying bullchit.
Listening to the talk(including the polls)' $EC probably should be a conference among themselves. Like MN High School Hockey, win the State(Conference), you're NC....
Went camping this past weekend (no cell reception) and found out about the bloodbath on Sunday when I got home. Finding out that USC, UCLA AND Stanfurd all lost was freakin awesome.
If I was a TCU fan, I'd be furious with Gary Patterson. Still can't believe he made the decision to go for it on 4th on the 50 with a minuteish to go...
What was the other option? He was 4th and 3. His defense was gassed and we were having our way with them. If he got the first, he could have gotten in fg range and put it to bed. Otherwise, with the way baylors offense was going, don't think it really mattered if we got the ball on the 10 or 50.

The other option, punt!!!
I think it makes A HELL OF A DIFFERENCE, between inside the 20 vs the 50.. I stand by "a terrible call!"
That's OK it is a loss and we are out of the playoffs. However, I remember when we fired arguably the best coach in the southwest conference because he couldn't produce the big "win" and the awesomeness that followed for the next 15 years. Keep the Baylor shirt in good shape you are going to need it for a while. _________________ There'll be two dates on your tombstone/ And all your friends will read 'em/ But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em...
vette74, as great as rc was for y'all, he had to go at that time. no different than mack brown. coaches just don't have the same impact after 10+ years at the same place (spare me the outliers). fran was a terrible hire, but sumlin is legit. just think - if you guys had stayed in the b12, you'd have been playing in the mnc last year!
if you guys have nothing better to do tonight, you can tune in to espn2 and check out my bobcats and the aforementioned fran take on the ragin' cajuns!
Because if its Tuesday Night its College Football!!!!!
some of us gotta get in where we fit in!
btw - your ducks and their outrageous uniforms may be doing a throwback look....all the way to 1994.

Dan Lyons
1994 was a breakthrough season for Oregon. The Ducks went 9-4, won the Pac-10, and earned a Rose Bowl berth, and the program has only had one losing season since. One of the turning points of that season was during the rivalry game against No. 9 Washington. Freshman cornerback Kenny Wheaton ran an interception off of Huskies quarterback Damon Huard for a touchdown, sealing a Ducks win. Oregon, which start the year 3-3, won its last six regular season games, and Wheaton’s play became known as “The Pick” in Eugene.
jryoung might get some of his annual payments back
Two years ago I ran into Kenny going into the UO vs UW game. Got a picture with him that my wife put on a coffee mug for me
Oh and the importance of The Pick to UO program can not be understated. The big bad Huskies were marching down the field to break our hearts AGAIN. Everyone knew it, it was only a matter of time. Then........
Without that play NO Rose Bowl, No huge Phil donations, No Etc, Etc, Etc. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian?
