It's missing 2 things really: Bluetooth and Blu-Ray.
I'm not a big fan of 17" laptops, but if you are this is a pretty good deal.

The parentals are looking for a new laptop, steering them towards that. With W8 it would be nice if it had a touchscreen as well. Blu-Ray is a huge meh with everything going digital now. A bluetooth dongle could be added for very cheap.

wakeboarderdave1, I'd bet there is an unused mini-pci slot in the thing. Or better yet, the current wifi card (likely a mini-pci card) could be swapped with a wifi+BT4 card for $30 or less. And an Intel MIMO card at that...

Little One wants to buy an iPad mini(been saving for a year for a tablet) & I'm having a VERY hard time not just buying the regular iPad(new version)... Haven't made the purchase, but I just can't see myself letting her buy the mini.... |

I'll keep my 15", love it. As for a tablet, I dont know if I would want a smaller or full size tablet. If I didnt have a laptop only full size. But I think like scott a, with a good notebook I might would go small tablet for travel. The phone is just too small for decent use as a book or browser.
On a side note, I still highly suggest going SSD on the laptops. My battery life is a good bit better, it generates minimal heat, and this thing is super fast even with the i5.
