I need to rent a house for the month of January in Tampa for a 4-5 week gig at the cancer hospital by USF. I am looking at a property in Tampa Heights that looks nice and fits the budget (~$1700 for the month). Is this a decent area? _________________ Brent B

What do you mean by decent area? You're not going to get killed in your house, but you're not going to want to walk around outside either. If you're looking for a good place around TGH you're gonna wanna stay in south tampa (south of kennedy, north of gandy) or go out to the brandon/riverview area where you're just a short jump on the crosstown to work.
Be warned though, the crosstown is under construction and traffic is currently a total bitch.
Edit: just noticed you're not looking for TGH. If you're looking up my Moffitt you want a place in Carrolwood or New Tampa. Not only is Tampa Heights a kinda ghetto area but the commute would BLOW to Moffitt from there. |

| I'll defer to taitrt on this, but I did have a couple friends who lived in New Tampa and if you get stuck in the construction area on Bruce B. Downs you're Bubb Rubb. Stay away from that, and you're golden (or at least get south of it so you don't have to drive through it to get to and fro). |

| I wish I could help more, but I only drive to Tampa to get to the cable park. |

Bruce B Downs sucks because it has some major areas of congestion, but you've just got to get into the mindset that a 15 minute commute to travel 5 miles is still better than a 20 minute commute to travel 20 miles. |
