I'm looking for an inexpensive inboard I can use for a wakeboarding boat for a coue years. I'd like to put a couple thousand $ into it and maybe sell it and upgrade. I love a big wake and plan to do a little bit of surfing. Not too worried about a good ski wake. With similar weight, are the wakes comparable?
Between these two boats that are for sale locally for $9k I was leaning towards the MB because it has perfect pass. But it also has 900 hrs and the Supra has 350. Should 900 hrs scare me away? Any other concerns? |

If maintained well 900 hours shouldn't be a problem. Have the engine checked before you buy. _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

I would be way less concerned about a boat that age with 900 hours than one with 350. That Supra has spent a lot of time sitting. That's harder on all your hoses and belts than being run regularly. Have a compression test done and get riding. |

I didn't end up with either boat. Missed the MB, and the Supra was just too beat up for me. I ended up instead with a '97 Malibu Sunsetter vlx for a steal. ALMOST felt guilty. I'm loving it. With about 1000lbs the wake is perfect on both sides. Emptied on one side with 400 in one side of the vdrive, the surf wake is great. Still trying to figure out cheap/easy/fast ways of emptying and filling for goofy surfers, but other than that, I couldn't be happier. I even squeezed it into my garage with just enough room for one car.

I like the trailer!
How much did you get it for?
I suppose it would be arguable if that was beached or not, it looks to be awfully shallow. |
