| If you had to pick, what would you take and why? I encourage an answer if you have rode both. |

Also, I have done extensive research on both (everything I could possibly do without demo'ing the boards) and I have heard that they are very similar.
Unfortunately I am having some trouble deciding because I have had people tell me that the Viva feels lighter, and pops harder and then I have had people tell me that the B-side feels lights and pops harder.
The only difference I have heard between the two boards that seems to be consistent is that the Viva has a bit more of a locked in feel given the quad fin vs. the B-side's freeride feel with the bi-fin.
Any other ideas? |

If you're just starting out or this is your first advanced board, you honestly will probably be happy on either one.
Remember that your personal tastes are the MOST IMPORTANT thing when getting a board. Everyone has their opinion and tosses around their thoughts but none of them are right for you. You said it yourself; if you talk to two people, you'll likely get two different opinions.
Both are solid decks and reasonably similar in shape and features (from what I can tell browsing quickly online). Don't listen to the hype about "pop", a lot of people overuse the term and don't know what they're talking about. while board shape definitely has an effect on the pop off the wake, NO board is going to make-up for bat technique and turn you in to a pro overnight. With either one of these boards, it's likely your skill level will not surpass the boards any time soon and you'll be happy with either IMO. |
