Is it normal for there to be a medium amount of vibration in the boat when you drop the throttle down and the steering wheel is turner all the way over? I get this when I come back to pick up the skier then gas the boat to pop them up,I can never tell when the rudder is centered. ps boat is an 03 Calabria. Thanks for the help everyone |

No don't think so,I am usually taking off from a dead stop with the wheel turned when I feel the vibration. Then it stops when I straighten out |

Does anyone else get that vibration when going to full throttle from a dead stop if your steering wheel is not centered? How am I to tell when the rudder is centered? |

from time to time. in have been told its the water pulses as it hits the rudder broadside. you could have your prop shaft check for true, might have a shop check your rudder while your at it. most shops should do this for about an hour labor. could be cheep insurance for your peace of mind. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |

How to check if your rudder is centered? Don't floor it but just idle forward. If you're idling in a straight line, it's straight! If not, it's not!
And oh yeah: DON'T POWERTURN! _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

Thanks for all the replies, they were all really helpful. Great link flyzone very informative. I think kartman is right it feels like water is hitting my rudder broadside sending the vibrations through the hull. I'm going to try to ideal forward till my rudder is straight before I hit the gas. I guess I just thought it didn't matter which way your rudder was facing when you punched it (NOOB). |
