Okies has his location listed as Edmond, which is on the other side of okc from where these tornadoes hit. Hopefully all is well.
Death toll just reported at 37 confirmed...

| my dad grew up in shawnee - the town hit last night. just traded texts w/ my older brother and his mom is safe - i think she lives more on the northern side of okc though. |

Prayers to all of them. Brings back not-yet-faded memories of Joplin, MO a couple years ago. Hopefully Okie and all of his family are OK. I know we had a few other OK folk on here too. I hope all is well with them/their families.

Hey guys, been kind of busy, but here and all is well. I was in CA until Sunday evening. We did have a small tornado go through Edmond that touched and lifted...not much damage. That one went east and became pretty big Sunday evening, hitting Carney. There was the other one that hit Shawnee that was pretty bad, too. Then yesterday's was even worse. We watched it form up in awe. Prayers for the families in Moore, Shawnee and Carney. If you want to do something to help, there are the obvious channels and I'm willing to facilitate anything, as well. We're trying to do a few things on a personal level and organize something with our church. There are a few other members on here that I am friends with and they're all OK, as well.

Word just hit - Kevin Durant of OKC Thunder just dropped a million bucks on the Red Cross.
That is big baller style. Huge respect to KD.

Heard that, too. Very cool. KD has always seemed like a pretty good guy to me...this reinforces that quite a bit.

By the way, chavez, kudos for looking it up. We had family members that were watching the whole thing on the news that were calling or texting rather than looking it up...LOL!

This is so tragic, to hear of kids drowning in the basement is scary, that is where you are supposed to go during a tornado! |
