I am trying to build a slider this summer and have a couple of questions for those that have built their own or ridden home made sliders.

1. Has anyone ever used or ridden on a slider made of Lexan polycarbonate sheets?

2. I am wondering about width. I am debating between 1 foot or 2 feet in width. I am leaning towards 1 foot just because i think it will be more fun and require more skill. However, I want some of my less skilled friends to want to try it and not be intimidated. What is everyones opinions on width?

Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I really want to do this right the first time so I am trying to get as much information as possible up front.

Phil
