Definitely nice. I'd stay away from black, but the gunmetal is a nice look.

Sidenote: saw a '14 Range Rover in my area a few weeks back with no camo. Apparently they had them out doing a photo shoot in Tahoe the day before. It was one hell of a sweet looking ride.

I've seen a new Range Rover with the crazy headlights a couple of times around my office. Didn't know if it was a new body style or one of the crazy Autobiography editions. The body lines look too clean to be Autobiography though.

I think black wheels look good on white cars and black cars. They never seem to look right on other colors IMO.

IMO, the LR4 does not need changes to the stock wheels. It's a Land Rover, and a nice vehicle, but it's so utilitarian it seems foolish to change the stock wheels. Like putting a body kit on a Crown Vic.

Congrats on the new ride.

With the black it looks like you need to clean the brake pad dust off of the wheels...

Hey if I'm going to bust out the virtual rattle can on anyone's ride, you can rest assured that reference will be included! Laughing

I'm looking at buying this 2006 LR3, anything I should look out for? How is it towing a boat?

I have nothing to add about the LR3 other than it was under heavy consideration around that year (05-06) but lost out to far cheaper options. In retrospect, both it and what we did buy would have been/were a mistake for our circumstances. Had nothing to do with the merits of the vehicle.

wakeboarderdave1, I did a fair amount of research on Land Rovers (Range Rover specifically) a few years ago before buying one for my wife. At that time, the vehicles had gotten much better in terms of reliability after their first redesign under Tata. I don't think a 2006 LR3 is going to fall under a Tata redesign. It may still be a good vehicle though. Service is going to be expensive at a Land Rover dealer.

My wife had a 2010 RR Sport SC and it was a good vehicle for her. No serious problems, just too small for a rear facing baby seat. If we lived closer to a Land Rover dealership, I would consider buying another one.

Huh? Who is trying to sit in the front seat, Shaq?

What have you found that is better?

It was uncomfortable for anyone sitting in the front seat. Imagine scooting the front passenger seat up about 2" from full forward and leaning the seat back forward to the angle of an unreclined Southwest Airlines seat. At that setting, My knees were rubbing the glove compartment and the baby seat was rubbing the back of the seat.

The Lexus LX 570/Toyota Landcruiser, Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade, Sequoia, and Armada had adequate room from what we tried. Yes, I carried the car seat and base to all the dealerships and tried them before test driving. The GX 460, 4Runner, and X5 did not have enough room. Did not test QX 56 (no local dealer), GL 550 (wife did not like), Range Rover (no local dealer), Expedition/Navigator (mad at local Ford Lincoln dealer).

My wife and I both liked the LX 570 the most and it was what I wanted to buy, but for $35k less she preferred the Denali Yukon, so that's what she got.

Uhm, ok. Confused

Different strokes for different folks I suppose. Didn't have any real problems with this setup in the JSW or the Pious. Only place I really had such a problem was in the 335 vert we test drove, but that was forward facing (rear face is a non-starter in that rig).

Sounds to me what you really wanted was a minivan... Laughing

i would stay away from the lr3 if possible.

They had a different engine that wasnt as powerful and prone to issues. the 5.0 V8 in the lr4 is the same as the non supercharged big body range

the lr3 didnt last long because of the redesign and they fixed a lot of the issues with the lr3 when it became the disco 4 / lr4
