No, but Max bit a scrotum once. True story.

Well, I got Bindy down to the ropeswing today. She wasn't a huge swimmer, but she just about stayed in the water. I think this summer when it finally warms up she'll be more interested.

Figured I'd update since it's been slightly over a month since I got Bindy.

The past month hasn't been too bad. She's slowly learning people manners, which helps when you get friends to make her get out of their laps, instead of thinking it's cute (girls seem to have trouble telling her no).

She hasn't had an accident in my house for the past 2 weeks either which is good.

Took her down to the beach with me this weekend, and she did fantastic. Friday we went out to the beach with another lab, and a doberman that are my friends dogs' at the house i stayed. The dogs ran around and played fetch and swam for about 3 hours, all showed no signs of exhaustion.. It was a good time.

Finally found a toy that Bindy likes so that makes getting her attention easier, and she seems to be learning her name and her place.

Heres a few pics of her. One at the beach, and one with her new best friend.

got them all to sit at the same time by showing them their treats - rib bones from john mueller meat co beef ribs.

my brother's labs swimming this morning. they've been to swim before 8am back to back days. they must think austin is the best place ever! except for the heat - i pulled a full dog's worth of fur off of the male yesterday. his undercoat can't shed fast enough - and he's been here <48hrs.

jt09,
I understand the undercoat troubles. I wiped off the hair on my desk last week, and 2 days later it was covered again. I'm excited for a less hairy winter.

So bindi had her first vet visit while in my care yesterday. No problems, just needed new heartworm medicine and it requires a prescription.

So I took her down to the Vet school here on campus, because why not give this great university even more of my money. I was thoroughly impressed, especially after getting the discharge notes back today. My Dr. doesn't give me this when I am sick, but the vet does. It's extremely detailed.. Anyone else's vet do this? Or is this probably done to help the student practice?

i wonder if it's because they are a university shop. 1800petmeds is about $12 less than my vet for trifexis. and yeah, my vet was bitchy about me getting the script to go - even charged me $10 for it.

jt09,
It might be. I paid 40$ for a check up, and the sentinel was 39. On 1800 petmeds it was 59$ for the same amount and size category

It's probably more to prevent people from trying to self treat using the internet and then ordering meds and not knowing what to use or proper dosages. Many preventative medications are similarly priced online. The other problem is that there have actually been quite a number of cases where pharmacists will actually change the recommended dosages, thinking it can't be right and not realizing the differences in animal vs. human dosages and what are tolerable levels.

Max looks really good.
