Tosh gets busted for cheating at UW
Sark held responsible under new NCAA rules
USC voids contract w/ Sark
USC now has a coaching vacancy to fill!
Texas not stoked
Seven Win Sark and his buddy Tosh are out of a job
shamepaints continue through the offseason!
What are the odds of this scenario playing out? I'm just looking for offseason entertainment at this point. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

texas - 3 players out for being stupid: daje johnson, jalen overstreet and estelle kennedy. kennedy is the only one that's a starter, but really could use the other two's speed vs oregon.
tamu - leading tackler darian claiborne out for drug arrest (weed and something else - "dangerous drug"). |

I love the NCAA's decisions making skills. Christian Bryant (OSU Safety) was denied a medical RS. He missed 9 games this year with a broken ankle and 6 his freshman year with an injury. I know years aren't combined when applying, but you'd think it would help. _________________ RIP DLS.

Pretty entertaining game last night. I wish they both could have lost, but I guess that was the lesser of the two evils. |

So is Sark leaving Tosh at UW a implicit condemnation of Tosh's guilt?
Sark payed him an s load to leave Cal, right? So now he isn't good enough? _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

Sark payed him an s load to leave Cal, right? So now he isn't good enough? | This is from memory...Sark forwarded a list of coaches to $C that he'd like to bring with him, and Tosh was on the list. Then all of a sudden this Tosh story surfaced and (I'm guessing) Haden crossed his name off the list. UW recently announced that Tosh has been re-assigned to a different role within the UW athletic department, so he's no longer even coaching. So no, Sark didn't throw him under the bus, but he also didnt support Tosh at all when the $C beat writers asked him about his knowledge of the incident. But that may be by design because $C is on probation and needs to stay faaaar away from Tosh and his antics.
I've never been a huge fan of Sark, and I'm glad that he's back at $C. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

also, i can't say how much i've enjoyed all the bcs games this year, and the tamu/duke game as well. just great fun. here's to hoping the mnc game is as entertaining as the others.
how awesome was dabo sticking it to spurrier in the postgame? "only team from south carolina to win a bcs bowl!" |

if you're 0-5, you got to get your licks in where you can. spurrier would have done the same thing - one of the reasons i love him. |

jt09,
What are your thoughts on Patterson?
Don't know if anyone could manage this change of HC better. With that said from a distance the goings on at UT look an awful lot like the bumblefukery that he lead with the Trailblazers. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

small sample right now, but i like it so far. there's still a long way to go - the whole athletic dept needs cleansing. not just coaches - support staff too. he's got that rep, so hopefully there's a band-aid ripping coming, not a slow pull.
i won't pretend to know what happened in portland, but i'll say this - that was 7 years ago and hopefully he's learned from experience. also, being the gm of a pro sports team =/= to being a college ath dir. pro gm is responsible for picking on field talent and college ad sees a much bigger picture. hopefully he's better at seeing that big picture than he was at picking talent - i mean...oden over durant? especially for a texas grad? |

I was referring more to the leaks, recants, denials and ongoing BS of the Mack resignation and "possible" Strong hiring.
Exactly the kind of scenarios that repeatedly went down during his tenure here and allegedly lead to an extremely backbiting, infighting, screwed up front office. The Oden affair is a perfect example, but not isolated. Off the top of my head there was big political problems with Brandon Roy's health and how it was addressed with media/fans. He also "fake" fined Darius Miles and then refunded the money only to be called on it then deny and get caught lying. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

that's all powers and strong/louisville. if anything, the leaks have tightened up exponentially since mack left (which was not patterson) and the hiring process started (which is patterson). you also have to remember how many bmd types have their hand in it at texas right now - i expect that to change under patterson over time. dude's only been here a month! |

That answers my question, and like I said I only have the way outsiders perspective.
It was just all quite familiar and I was curious if that was on Patterson or not. Sounds like not. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

Probably for the best.
Unbelievably dynamic as a play maker, totally out of position this whole year.
Frankly, I am not sure if he pushed to line up as a running back or if that was the coaches. Wherever that comes from it was a mistake.
I get at the end of the day it is on the coaches. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

So you think Strong was chosen over Briles and Mora?
Powers is my parents neighbor on Lake LBJ. My dad couldn't care less about UT, so he never asks any questions. Maybe one day after he's no longer president I can ask him if Saban was ever really interested and if Strong was really plan A. |

ohsix, i think there is a lot of dancing around between all parties and the mutual interest between strong and texas was, er...strongest. i do think the coincidence/timing of all 3 announcements lends *some* credence to the mspaint depiction. mora was somewhat of a late comer to the party to begin w/, and briles would have to be the ultimate a-hole to do baylor like that and go right down the road. i do think the wish list went: saban, fisher, briles, strong/mora/franklin
STPHNSN23, it wouldn't surprise me, and it makes the most sense - smu is the only men's program in the state. lacrosse is the one i've heard mentioned already, but i'm not holding my breath. |

I have to agree with JT. There was too much smoke around Saban for him not to be the first choice. As far as the rest, I doubt we will really ever know. _________________ Work SUX! |
