Hilarious. Still doubt she learned her lesson. Probably blamed it all on the judge.

How can you not be nervous in front of a judge?

Judge was a bit of an a$$hole. I don't think she was anymore flippant by saying adios to him, than he was saying bye bye to her. Now, the flipping him off was over the line.

He was more than patient with her. She was flippant enough that he needed to ask if she was under the influence. She could have been nervous, but again, not a reason to not answer direct questions. Saying adios to a judge during your arraignment hearing....Laughing

Yea, after everything before, I see no reason not to double the bail...she has Rick Ross anyway......what difference does an extra 5K make...

Add into the fact that now she is going to have to hire private representation, which most likely will be someone from the mass letters she is going to get..... Laughing Laughing ....this is going to be a fun experience for her.

Plus, the fact you only have to post 10% of a bond.

So, she is doing 30 days in county over $500.

I know its trivial but I would appeal the decision. People have gotten major settlements and won supreme court cases for flipping off cops and getting arrested. It's freedom of speech. Not sure what the difference would be in dealing with a LEO vs a judge. I also work with a former correctional officer who was sued by an inmate for flipping him off. The judge asked the inmate to show him the official definition of the gesture and when he failed to do so, dismissed the case.

All that being said, I still think this girl is a complete idiot and don't support her actions at all.

Baltfrog, I understand your argument, but she did say F off as well as flip him the bird. I think one could find the official definition of F off. Also, maybe some of the people with legal backgrounds can chime in but I think your freedom of speech is somewhat restricted in a court of law due to decorum and proceedings.

The court of law is different than a street corner. You can't do or say whatever you want in court.

As someone who hates big government I am going to turn it around on them. The definition of obscenity as the supreme court deems it is based upon community standards. That means it is forever evolving. Can we as a community really say we consider that obscene with the sort of sex and violence we are exposed to daily. I would ask too, where is the list of words I can and cannot say in court. Again I'd like to stress the girl is an idiot and I don't support her and common knowledge would tell you to not say that in court , but the judge is equally a d*ck and acts just as childish if you ask me.

As a lawyer who spends quite a bit of time in court, I can tell you a judge is empowered to hold you in criminal contempt for showing disrespect or threatening the court, it's officers or others present. There are rules of conduct that are adopted by the court, which the court is expressly allowed, by statute, to create and enforce. A court of law is not considered a public area where "free speech" and "freedom of expression" are guaranteed if it means you are breaking the court's rules of conduct. The purpose of the rules is to ensure the orderly administration of justice. Could you imaging how out of hand it would get is every idiot thought he or she was allowed to dog cuss the judge every time he or she had to appear in court?

Again, as someone else said, a court of law is not the same thing as a public place. If it was, you wouldn't have to leave your weapons in the car, turn off your cell phone, and not act like a piece of garbage.
