Looking at a used 2004 X30, this would be my first v-drive. Have always owned stern drives.
What questions do you guys ask when looking at a used V-drive boat.
thanks for help |

The wake behind that model x30 leaves much to be desired. Just thought you should know. Definitely demo it. You should do yourself a favor and also demo an X1 (205v hull) so you can see what a good wake looks like.
You should check the transmission fluid. You should ask what electrical issues he has experienced. Look at the interior and make sure there are no pink spots (if so, let me know and I'll explain why that is an issue). Ask what dealer serviced the boat. Call the dealer and get the service records. Check the oil. Get a compression test on the motor. Test all of the ballast switches and perfect pass. Ask what hull repairs have been performed, if any. |

thanks for info, I would like to get something in the 23' range to handle chop better and more room. We are family boaters, I ski and would like to learn to surf. My son wakeboards but is a beginner and 11 yr old.
Would the X30 fit this |

They are caused by a batch of vinyl that utilized an adhesive that microorganisms fed off of. The byproduct was small pink splotches on the vinyl. I think MC had that fixed by '04. I had the entire interior replaced on an '02 xstar under warranty because of it. |

+1 on calling the dealer and getting info on the work they did on the boat. +1 on the compression test. _________________ Wakeskating
