Hey!

Kind of new to the Forum, been reading for a while and finally registered. I figured I'd throw up a picture of the boat and the projects I'm taking on when I get back from deployment

2000 Glastron GX 205 V8 Volvo Penta 5.0
Interior:
Pull carpet and replace with 20-24oz Marine Carpet
Pull wood decking and replace (Not rotted but coming loose)
(Marine Grade 3/8")
Fiberglass deck
Wrap around seating $500.00
Replace Captains Chair $300.00
Wire up x2 Amps and x1 Sub $450.00
Fix Trim Gauge (Doesn't read) $35.00
Fix Fuel Sending Unit (hopping all over the place) $40.00
Pro X Series 900Lb Ballast System $500.00
Perfect Pass Star Gazer Edition $1,100

The Interior is not bad, the reason I am taking on this flooring project is because the boards have started to separate from the stringers which is allowing them to soak up water since from the factory all they did was Resin the top. I plan on keeping this boat for a long time so I'm taking the initiative to fix the problem so my boats life will be much longer

Exterior:
Custom Swim Platform $950.00
Paint Job (Black and Grey)
Big Air Bimini $500.00
Install Swim Platform Speakers x2 (Like an Epic Boat) $200.00
Wake Board Mirror $100.00
Add another wake board rack $150.00

So this is pretty much the baseline. Almost everything I can and will do my self. The primary exception will be the paint job. Look forward to this, it will be a long deployment waiting to start! About 2 months from me getting home I will be ordering the Perfect Pas Star Gazer Edition, Swim Platform, Bimini, and Ballast System. So there will be some drastic changes very quickly. (Wife already said yes!) I'll be sure to keep everyone posted with pictures, problems and solutions as I run through them.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions let me know! Any advice is always welcome.

I don't believe that it has the VEC Hull. Not 100% though.

Here is the current status of my project:

Speakers: BOSS MRWT69 (running into trouble with mounting hard ware being too small need 2 1/2" but can't find it)

Swim Platform: Quote requested will order shortly. Approximately 950, if I install my self. Which I will.

Bimini: Finish up measurements and will be ordering in 2 months.

Yeah, it's a bit much but after searching for several months now... Best price and design. So I will take the hit. I'm tired of having to sit on the sun deck to board up it will be great when I have a true platform to stand on. I will probably put Sea Dek on it as well.

Have you considered finding an older teak platform and mounting it to the back of your boat? I don't think it would be as expensive and you could oil the wood up and have it looking good. I've noticed a lot of wake boats have teak platforms too.

Truthfully, I never considered it. Any ideas on places to find one?

Good idea, I appreciate it!

http://wilmington.craigslist.org/bod/3371180625.html
I know this one might not be exactly work but something like this would be perfect if its the right length ect. Is the back of your boat flat or is it curved? If it is curved you may be able to cut a rectangular platform a little so that it fits pretty fluch against your boat and looks factory.
But as far as finding one goes I would prolly check out ebay and Craigslist also look for old project boats like an old mastercraft prostar or nautiques and see if they will just sell you the swim platform.

Awesome, Yeah the back of the boat is curved. Good call man. Appreciate the help. As my deployment reaches the halfway mark I'm itching to get back and get to work on this project!

Just picked up a new Wake Tower Mirror, and Wake Board Rack. Pretty excited. I will continue to pick up odds and ends while I am deployed, help spread out the cost over time.

The plan is 2 Bricks in the back left and right of engine, 1 in ski locker and have a custom made ballast bag for the bow. Total between 800-1000 lbs.

Thought I'd go ahead and post a pic of the Tow Vehicle. My 2007 Ford F-150 XLT Triton.

Tows without any problems. Had a few long hauls up to Lake Gaston handled great, even going down I-95 and 80 MPH. Hopefully will continue to treat me well for years to come.

Dang that's sick. I plan on getting the 2012 harley grind w/ either the 2013 parks boots, or the 2012 frank boots.

Just recently got back from deployment. Working on some orders currently (Bimini and Swim Platform) hoping to start working on the deck as spring approaches!
