Well not completely but when we talk about wakeboarding, they do Laughing

For 2 years I was wakeboarding at least 3x a week at my local cable. Now its 1 time in 3 weeks...

Crying or Very sad

Who of you have these things aswell, where you move on in your life and have no time or interest in doing the sport you love? I always get a downer feeling in october and now I think, I should have done more with wakeboarding this year...

Medina, I had to deal with that for a while but fortunately my school had a wakeboard club that I got really involved in. Still wasn't riding nearly as much but got to talk and hang out with people who really loved the sport so it was always a good time.

It was a bad time for riding but I met great people who I can travel and go ride with and managed to get myself a job and move within 30 min. of a cable park (closest one when I was in high school was about 3 hours!). So it all worked out in the end.

It gets frustrating but just keep watching videos and hanging out with other wakeboarders. At least you can keep your head in the sport.

i ride every weekend in the summer (early may- early sept.) my last gf, didnt wakeboard. wouldnt even try it, let alone rarely got in the water.... needless to say, it didnt work out (for that and other more important reasons) Rolling Eyes

kinda helps that outta 8 guys, only 3 are in "committed" relationships. Laughing

only you have this severe problem, but best way is to surround yourself with like minded people

Wowsers! What rock were you hiding under Medina? You used to post on this forum daily. College took a lot of my time, but I just got married and my wife loves skiing and wakeboarding. We just bought our first boat. Look for the pics soon in the share your boat thread. I just have to figure out how to post them. Anyways, like the others said find people that want to wakeboard and surround yourself with them. And try and get your girlfriend into it. I find sharing things with the wife, snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, all more enjoyable when she is there.

Medina, let me give you one word of advice. ALWAYS MAKE TIME FOR SOMETHING YOU LOVE TO DO.

I have a more than full time job, a wife (that luckily loves wakeboarding), and a part time business on the side.

Even with all that, we still make sure to get out at least once a week. Work hard, play harder. Very Happy

Yeah make sure you keep doing your what you love, even when together keep your own life. At least a little bit. You don't ALWAYS have to be together, it's super healthy to do stuff separately. She should too. Make time, make it a regular thing; once or twice a week at the same time, with other guys so they're expecting you to come.
Get out and ride!

that sounds like a GIRLfriend who has some maturing to do herself, not a wife. someone who is wife-material respects your freedom and all positive aspects of your being. compromising is one thing, making decisions for another person is not. this will not stay to wakeboarding, she will want you to devote yourself to her completely eventually, giving up all your pastimes.
growing up has NOTHING to do with a sport or passion, it has to do with taking responsibility for your family and kids when and where it is neede. work a job that pays well so you can provide, give them quality time and be available emotionally at ALL times, but also give them time to develop themselves and have fun on their own.

amen is right, I tell her a lot she has maturing to do (and myself as well) and she always finds it offensive.

We just graduated college and are doing the long distance thing now and it hasn't been going well.

Blindside_137, I'm sure you already know this but HER location is the very last factor that should be considered for your future educational plans. Go to the place that you want to go to and put her last. If she can't handle that decision then you already know it ain't gonna work.

Good luck, I'm a believer that everything happens for a reason. So if it works out it works out, if not, then that is what was supposed to happen.
