|
|
Hey guys, so ive been reading through MANY threads on here about boards. I started riding this summer, now doin W2W grabs, 180s and switch riding, etc, and I don't plan to stop riding anytime soon. I'm 6 ft. tall and weight 155 pounds. My first board was a friends old board - LF trip 142, and I know, its big for me. I don't want to spend much more than 3-350, but I don't want to have to buy another board when I get better either! I also feel like the board I have now is mad heavy, probably because its a 142?
Here's a couple boards I'm lookin at in 134-136 sizes:
CWB Pure Wakeboard - Blem + Venza Bindings 2012
Ronix Vault w/ divide or w/ district bindings
Another LF trip maybe
Thanks for any help! |

Damn, lanky dude!
Take a look at various websites and their clearance gear. Most of the time you can find a great deal on new, year-old stuff, especially now since the 2013 gear will be hitting shops. If you have a local shop, ask what they have on clearance.
Do you have a pair of boots that are in good shape or do you need the whole setup (don't think you said, just posted a couple combos at the bottom). If you don't need new boots, put a little more money in to the board right now and upgrade boots when you can. I just got a pair of new Ronix Kai 2010 boots on ebay for cheap. Deals are always out there.
As for the boards you listed, they're ok. I don't like the Vault as it's got an asymmetrical design that allows you to 'cheat' on your toeside edge. CWB makes a decent board and that will probably hold up as well as the Trip, but it'll really come down to your riding preferences at that point. The Trip is a long-time classic shape for a reason, seems to be just a solid well-rounded board. |

| Yeah I have a pair of LF alpha bindings, open toes and laces. They are also a little big on me but are extremely comfortable and flexible. I was kind of looking forward to having a pair that only I use, then I can have a board that my friends can use ya know? I might as well just get a board for now though... What boards did you have in mind? |
