Has anyone heard of or surfed behind a jet boat? We have a 1994 four winns jet boat and I'm wondering if surfing behind it would be possible. I think I have heard of people surfing behind one of the sea doo jet boats but I might be mistaken. If i throw 500 lbs on one side do you think I could get a solid surf wake?

I would be very surprised if it's possible. Make sure to get a video if it does work!

I have a couple guys that surf behind a Yamaha AR-230 and they get a pretty nice wave. I'm not sure that the four winns would be as good, but anything is possible!

Might be worth a shot. I grew up riding behind a jet-boat and can't see it happening but who knows? Couldn't hurt to try. Just watch the weight-limit on the boat.

I used to have a seadoo challenger 180 and I threw almost 2000lbs on one side and across the back but was unable to make a surf wake. we tried and tried but only able to come up with a real washy wake. It was close but no cigar. You will need a very big surf board if its ever going to happen.

Thanks, I have friends that surf a lot and I'm kinda looking into it... but we will give it a shot to get a good wake before I spend a bunch of money on a board. Looks like I will probably end up just surfing behind my friends boats.

I surf behind mine with 850lbs of ballast and it works.
