My friends and I just built a really big kicker. It is right at 6ft tall 8ft wide. We got out on the water and got it all set up but when we hit it the kicker is so tall the rope is hitting the ramp before you jump. We don't want to cut it down if we don't have to. We thought about sinking it more to see that helps

Are you hitting the ramp at an angle or just straight on?

You shouldn't be going straight over the ramp, you should be cutting out to it and flattening off of your edge as you hit it (but still carrying momentum). If you ever look at a pro kicker you'll see scratches from the boards going almost from the bottom inside corner to the top outside corner (think of it as the farther you go up the kicker, the farther away from the wake you want to be). That should help a bit with your rope issue.

Height of the ramp shouldn't be a problem, it's on how you're hitting it. Take a look at this video with Chad Sharpe's insane kicker.

I got to the cable park alot and hit their kickers at a angle. When I first started I was straight on but as I got better I hit it coming from the bottom right corner and cross over to the top left corner.

Now, we have tried both ways, straight on and at an angle, to see what can be done to stop the rope from hitting the ramp. We tried driving the boat closer to the ramp and further away.

I see in this video, his ramp is just as big as ours if not bigger. SO I know now it can be resolved just need to iron out the kinks on the boat driver pulling or the riders angle.

Has anyone out there ever run into this issue and if so how did you fix it?

I can only imagine this happening if the kicker is in between the rider and the boat. Of course, those 3 should not be in the same line. So, move the boat away from the kicker et voila!
Or am I missing something...?

Yea ur right we are not on the exact same line but I think the boat is to close. Plus I think we need to angle the kicker more away from the line as well

So the bigger the kicker the further away from the boat the kicker should be? And the angle of the kicker should be about 45 degrees from the boats line?
