My current set up is a LF S4 and LF shane bindings. My problem is ive got flat feet and when I tighten my laces up I get cramp after about 15minutes and it gets unbearable! When I loosen the laces off my heel moves around so much as you'd imagine.
I really want to try a ronix set up but I changed to my S4 about 4months ago and im loving it. I like the idea of the moulded design to the ronix boots and on the One and Parks boot when you tighten the laces it it pushes your heel into the heel of the boot.
Is it a good or bad idea mixing different brands?

You don't have to worry, bindings/boards are pretty standard and interchangeable between brands. If you're worried about damage or anything, it won't be a problem at all.

The only thing to note is that bindings made prior to the '08-'09 seasons or so. The width for the insert spacings/bindings has shifted to a different distance on pretty much all the gear out there. Even then you don't have to worry too much as old bindings will still fit on a new board (and vice-versa), you just may not be able to use all of the stance options.

Like GnarShredd said, they will fir but you may not be able to get the widest or narrowest stances out of them. You'll be fine.

further to the lacing tightness thing, you can also try to loosen the BOTTOM laces a bit, so that they just about stop your heel from wiggling.

do up the TOP laces hard, that will secure your foot in the binding and not come out during a crash. (i'm a fan of NEVER letting your feet come out of binding during a crash, because i value the knee on the leg that doesnt come out)

also, some brands have heat molding liners in their bindings which may be more comfy for you - and yes most current 2009-2012 bindings are compatible with current 2009-2012 boards.
