Been trying both and coming close but haven't ridden away from either. The backroll supposed to be easier but I got closer, and in less time, trying a scarecrow.

Just looking for opinions on which of these two you guys felt were easier for you to land and what felt more natural.

Some people seem to tend to take to certain tricks more quickly than others. If you're better at the Scarecrow right now, work on that. But it doesn't hurt to have a couple of tricks to work on at the same time so you don't get burnt out on one.

Personally I learned a backroll first, then a tantrum, then scarecrows although I never got crows consistant behind the boat (they're SUPER easy for me on cable off a kicker though!). If you can get the pop right on a scarecrow the trick almost does itself, you just gotta remember you're landing switch.

Backroll! The scarecrow is a ts frontroll with 180. Better learn the frontroll before the crow, otherwise it's gonna be very hard learning frontrolls later on.

Get some advice on backrolls (ask here, post a vid), and start trying frontrolls. Then move on to crows.
My 2 cents...

Go for the backroll first I think it is a easier trick. I have only landed a few scarecrows but that is only because I can't ride switch to save my life. The scarecrow requires to things that people have a hard time with jumping toeside and landing switch. If you get the pop and start the frontroll it does want to just go to a scarecrow for most people. Good luck!!

HS Backroll was my first invert and Scarecrow was my 2nd (TS Frontroll came the weekend after Scarecrow).

If you're strong at landing switch 180 the Scarecrow is easier than then TS Front IMHO.

As for which I would learn first, if you're the rare rider (excluding super advanced / pros) that's better at toes than heels (I am), try a TS invert first. If you're like 90% of the riders try a HS backroll or Tantrum first. If you're good at the tripping motion on the crow you might find a tantrum easier than a backroll since its a trip too, just on your back edge instead of your front.

Without vids its hard to say which you're truly closer to landing though...

Best of luck!

Dusty
