jgriffith, Seems to be positive reviews for the most part. Lots of nice little features that you can definitely live without though from what I've seen so far. |

Already done. Airplay, Notification Center, iMessages (so much better than the beta version), and PowerNap all make it very much worth the measly $20. _________________

chavez, Have you used airplay at all? That seemed like the coolest thing for me, might make me pick up an Apple TV. |

GnarShredd, I've used Airplay for my iPad, and before Mountain Lion I used an app called AirParrot from my wife's iMac.
Both worked excellent. _________________

Just updated last night but havent messed with it. So do I need apple tv to do air play? I have an xbox 360 and a wifi blue ray player. From everything I see the answer is yes, but just wanted to see if you have another way to do it?
My wifes refurb ipad just came in so we will use that too. |

jgriffith, yes you need AppleTV to stream video.
There are probably some 3rd party hacks that make it happen, but to use the built-in support you will need ATV. If your Mac can't do AirPlay mirroring (many cannot, you need to look at the list from Apple), look in to the inexpensive app called AirParrot which works on most Macs. _________________

Dang, just found out that I cannot use airplay with my MBP, its a "mid 2010" model and you need an "early 2011" i think. Oh well, Apple TV is pretty cool for music on my iphone 4 and for mirroring on my wifes new ipad 2.
So what the hell (please dont hold my diploma) did I get for mountain lion, that was the main feature I was interested in. |

Check out http://airparrot.com. Took a little tweaking but works great on my '09 15" MBP. _________________ "Dumb dumb Cobe. Almost got in a fight. Almost got kicked off the island." |
