At the end of the season, I am looking at placing an order on an A22 at my local dealer. What are the must have options for the boat? Also, what options should I take a pass on?

So far I'm thinking:
Standard Motor
Dual battery switch(opinions on this?)
Chillax Center flip up seat
Driver's Bolster Seat
Mirror w/ mount
Pull up cleats
Pull up carpet(or is the standard removable as well?)
Bimini(which should I go with?)
Boat Cover(no idea what to go with)
Stereo(should I get pack 1 and got aftermarket or is pack2 ok?)
Auto-set wedge
Depth Finder
Plug N Play Ballast
Racks(fixed or swivel?)
Ski Pylon(for wife)
No idea what kind of trailer is worth it?(bare bones?)

Any input from current owners would be great

You hit all my nails on the head to minus the ski pylon and a few other things I know im going to go with. I have been in contact with a person from Malibu boats(axis) already and he is helping alot. we are in an area where there is only one or two dealers within 100 miles so it is hard to demo/see stuff in person you know..

You want swivel racks. The pimp trailer is great for towing long distances. If you don't tow a ton, the standard trailer is absolutely fine. Really, you're paying for bling on the tricked out trailer. It does look sick though.

I've always ordered my boat with stereo pack 1 and then upgraded the components afterwards. However, if you plan to do that, I'd just go with Stereo pack 3 and get all of the wetsounds stuff now that it is being offered in a comprehensive package.

You want the high altitute prop or the core prop if you are planning on running 750lb sacks in the rear, or are at altitude.

Docking lights and underwater lights are nice, but are not a necessity. I like my heater, but, again, not a necessity. The new cover that I got on my '12 is awesome. I think it is the standard cover.

I have a z5, but I have two small kids and a ton of extra gear, so the larger amount of shade and storage area that the z5 provides is what I opted for.

Thanks for the input Chat. I won't be towing too much. The normal trip will be 5-15 miles, and maybe an occasionally 200-300 mile trip a couple times a year. Are there any options that I should definitely pass on?

Chattwake, what makes the tricked out trailer better for towing long distances?

alw041, after having mine for a couple of years, here's what I'd change, and what I can't live without.

What I'd change:
- Z5 rather than bimini
- Stereo pack 3 (it wasn't available when I bought my boat)
- High altitude prop or OJ 5 blade
- Tower mounted mirror rather than windshield mounted mirror
- add deck trac

Can't live without:
- Wedge
- Chillax seat (helps keep kids out of the bow while underway)
- Bolster drivers seat with swivel (would prefer the seat to be adjustable even higher)
- Pull up cleats

Dual battery is a must for me in any boat I'll ever own. I really like the z5 cargo rack. I have sound pack 2, I like it. I'm sure its not as good as 3, but it works great for me. Not sure if tandom axle trailer is standard with the 22, but i dont like single axle trailers so make sure its tandom. Chillax seating very nice. I enjoy my heater in the cooler months. PNP is a must.

This is what I am thinking now:
Standard Motor
Dual battery switch
Chillax Center flip up seat
Driver's Bolster Seat
Mirror w/ tower mount
Pull up cleats
Pull up carpet(Still can't decide on tatami carpet)
Z5 Cargo Bimini
Stereo Pack 3
Auto-set wedge
Depth Finder
Plug N Play Ballast
Swivel Racks
Ski Pylon(for wife)
Standard Tandem Trailer

Any know what this might cost with these options?

Thanks jgriffith. Where should I cut corners to get it in the 50-55 area?

z5 is pricey, I think about 2000-2500. I love it though, especially with kids on board with tubes that i can store inflated on the rack. Stereo pack 3 is very expensive. Those two options will cut down the price a bunch.

Edit: a better idea would be to buy Chatwake's boat at the end of the year!

Hahaha. My '12 will probably be at least 60k because it has the ls3 and a huge wetsounds system.

I've pulled an A22 with the standard trailer on the interstate a few times, and I've pulled my A22 with the tricked out trailer on the same stretch. At high speeds, I find that my trailer is a bit more stable and doesn't bounce as much. I attribute it to the fact that the tricked out trailer uses a wider, lower profile, tire.
