|
|
I live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Besides Lake Michigan, there is not a clean body of water around me. I think. I've been looking at Cedar Lake, a big clean lake about an hour south on the Indiana border. I wish there were some rivers or other places that aren't well known or just hidden you can share?
My question is: Where around Chicago do people go wakeboarding? |

A lot of people go out on the fox lakes and the fox river. Im not sure how far you are from those places but they are great places to ride. Munson ski and marine puts on an event in the summer for people to get together and ride. Also there is a new system 2.0 that was just put in last year in Mchenry. This is the first full summer that they will be up in running so that will be a great place to go. Everyone I have met in the chicago area has been at these events and they have all been really inviting and fun to ride with

| Thanks for the information. I'm going to keep looking, that place is about 1hr and 20min from my house. Still, I never knew Fox River was that clean and accessible. Around me, all the major rivers flow out of Chicago and through Joliet. |

| I live 20 mins from Cedar Lake and go else where whenever possible. Its a dirty lake and on the weekends it's hard to get a smooth lake to ride on. |

| That is where i ride on the dirty river. I thought about going to cedar lake but i heard it gets busy on the weekend also. I put in on the kankakee River in kankakee and i also put in on the kankakee river of 55 in Channahon and it runs in to the Des plaines that is where we wakeboard. We run down to the east side of 55 and wakeboard right there in the canal not the cleanest but there are usualy no boats down there so it is calm. |
