Hello everybody!
My name is Alexander and I live in Lima - Peru. I'm 23 years old.

Approximately 1 year ago I started wakeboarding and really like this sport. I used to practice Motocross and Paragliding, but have found out the hard way that those are really dangerous sports!! Laughing

I was thinking about starting something like a "student exchange", if someone could receive me for a couple of weeks in your summer I would be extremely pleased to do the same on our summer (Dic, Jan, Feb, Mar) and this way we could wakeboard all year around! Besides Peru is a really beatiful country and you would live in the most exclusive and safest neighborhood in Lima.

I have my own boat, it's not particulary a Wakeboard Boat, but it does the job and I have many other friends who would also be happy to meet you and probably take part in this initiative.

Of course I would be happy to chip in for gas, food, beer, party and whatever is necessary to have a blast, because you will have to do the same when you come over here! Smile

What do you think about it?

Best regards,

Alex

I like your thinking! If I would still live in the Netherlands I would be totally up for it. However, I can already ride year-round here. I'd love to visit Peru some time though. Just curious, how's the wake-scene there?

You should definitely visit Peru sometime, it's a beautiful country! The wake-scene is growing, we don't have professional riders yet but we practice hard during our summer and some also during winter (wearing a wet suit).
If you decide to visit Peru send me a message because it would be complicated to wakeboard if you don't know someone who owns a boat!

Yeah if I make it there I'll definitely shoot you a message, thanks!
Are there any wake-schools yet? And a Peruvian wake association or something? Many Latin American countries are in the process of setting up an association, and uniting them all. Might be interesting for Peru to speed things up.

Hey!

Those pictures are beautiful! The water is SO blue! And the mountains or hills? That is so pretty! Where I live it is flat and hot, but the heat is really nice! I love seeing where other people live and what they do! Different cultures are really cool see especially if they have something in common with you.

I am 16 will be in the 11th grade (junior) the up coming school year. My parents don't like to travel that much, so I am stuck in my little bubble. I have been to Mexico once on a cruise trip, but besides that I haven't seen much.

that's too bad! it's always nice to travel, but start saving so that when you turn 18 you can travel all you want!! haha
I've been checking out pictures of Lake Lewisville, TX and it looks really awesome, totally different but apparently it has a lot going on! Besides it's huge, so you can ride without having to turn (right?)!

AlexB89, Yeah I thought about saving and taking a trip when I turn 18 just dont know where to go! It is way different than your pictures! haha, but yeah it has quiet a bit going on. It depends on where you are, but there are parts where you can ride a long ways before you have to turn. I love Lake Lewisville...grew up around it!

I think this is an AMAZING idea. If my job wasn't so demanding (hour wise) I'd be totally interested in having a "wakeboard exchange student" come stay with us. And I've always wanted to visit Peru!

it's a little bit late then, but if you want you can come to Lima, we started to ride last week, the water temp was ok.
There is already one wakeboarder coming, he will arrive next week and stay until April. He is from Utah.

I stumbled across this searching for wakeboarding in Peru. I'll be visiting Lima in March (6th-12th) to hang out with a friend and go sandboarding. Any chance you live near? I'm not sure how the weather is in March there, but if you're still wakeboarding and willing to pull me I'll pay for gas, drinks, food, etc...!

Of course! I live in Lima and we ride 40 minutes south. We usually ride every weekend until May, then we ride once or twice per month.

Alex, the water is warming up and it is time to start wakeboarding!

Is anyone else interested in a "Wakeboard Exchange"
