It looks like the Republicans are doing their typical dog and pony show trying to convince everyone they are all for smaller government by making cuts to things like SNAP. Too bad they won't touch all the other "welfare" programs.

Too bad they won't touch military spending, department of education spending, etc, etc. I'm all for an across the board cut of 1% on spending and NO increase in spending amounts without cutting spending somewhere else.

Look - i'm not for welfare or "welfare" programs as they are currently. That said, getting rid of all of them is not realistic and even if we did, it wouldn't solve the problem. There needs to be real cuts or freezes in spending all over for any real change to occur.

Agreed. I just think it's funny how they parade around like they are for small government, but they won't touch the things that are near and dear to them. They're no different than the D's, in that regard.

d's want your money. republican's want your money. they both want to control you socially, just over different issues. they are the ruling class and neither will ever let go of that power.

Okie, isn't there some more applicable and better forum to voice your political opinions? I mean it's non-wb, so have at it, but why don't you go post on reddit in one of the serious forums or something.

Are you actually doing something about these issues? Or just pontificating?

I post elsewhere, as well. I like discussion and I know some on here do, too. So, why not throw it out there. If people don't want to discuss, the thread just kind of dies...if they do it turns into a discussion.

I do what I can about the issues.
