EJ

I am with ontrider that is a strange place to have a broken stick. Something that he might try is making sure that the puck is making contact with the heel first then rolling from the heel to the toe of the blade as he follows through on his slap shot. I have broken many a stick but nothing like that. It either cracked the bottom of the blade or broke in the neck of the stick above the heel of the blade.

The Littel One hit the ice for her Summer Season.... Sick, wonder if we should have kept her home(she REALLY pushed to play).....but still had 4-5 goals and had a great night. Positioning was off(too far away from the net all the time), but passing was better... Attribute both to soccer.... Confused Assume the positioning will get back dialed in, being back out there in games.

Few more and don't even have to repost(edit)

The Little Man had surgery on his L hand last Monday. Testing it out to see if he can try to play at some point this week(Maybe a week from today at Sunday ice).....

Not sure how well that worked out....?

Gimme that puck....

Took the boy out in the kayak to see how he'd do. All in all he did fairly well. It took him a bit to warm up to it, but we expected a scream-fest so I'm chalking it up to a win.

Oh, and I cannot recommend his new vest enough. It's a Stohlquist Nemo. The 2012 models are USCG Class II and are not your typical annoyingly bulky child vest. He likes it so much he gets mad when we take it off. Got it at REI for $37.

Then, later, he decided to put a plastic cutting board in the "baking drawer" of our new range. 425º molten plastic = AWESOME! Evil or Very Mad

Well thankfully it scraped off the drawer completely without damage. The rack that it was sitting on is toast though. New one was $30 on Amazon, should be here Wed or Thurs.

E.J., not warming drawer, baking drawer. That thing was set at 425!

We were about to make Naan bread pizzas which I was quite looking forward to. Freebirds burritos were good substitute though. Laughing

I really think I can get up and ride w/o a rope with my daughter (almost 4), my neice (almost 5) and my other neice (almost 6), without the rope. I'm going to try soon. If successful, I'll post up a pic.

My wife likes to text me pictures of our son with captions. Here's some from a couple of weeks ago:

Sorry, can't talk now dad.
I'm on an important call.

Can I help you?

Here's a couple from the lake last week. He just likes to bite his life jacket.

I'm looking forward to fishing and hunting with my kid, and teaching them all about it whenever I have one.

For sure I am taking him dove hunting this year hopefully it goes good and doesn't get too scared of the noise.

vette74, Take him out shooting previous to hunting. That way he should be used to the noise and it won't bother him.

b_girl Yep she just barley made the min weight requirement at 7.5lbs but she also has her legs pulled up in that picture. She is so much smaller than my other girl even at the same age.

Great pics...love seeing the youngins. I kind of miss that stage. With our boys being 10 and 12, we're at a much different stage, that can be rather annoying at times.

chavez, Cool seeing him in the kayak...bummer on the baking drawer. At least he wasn't lighting things on fire in the sink while you left him and his brother home alone for a while.

Chattwake, very cool riding with that many people...I wish my wave was that good.

Okie Boarder, my brother did that. My mom took him to the local fire station and told the guys what he was doing.

He got a good "talking-to" and that was the end of his juvenile pyrotechnic career.

My oldest had a friend over that day that was also involved. The friend's Dad is a firefighter. They have something good coming their way as soon as he can arrange it. Twisted Evil

They've both been grounded ever since...basically only able to do things like read, LEGO's, etc. It's been kind of fun watching them be crafty with things. My oldest took an old box style clock with a 70's vintage dirt bike jumping in the background that was my Dad's, stripped it down, took it all apart, repainted, bought the new clock hands and control box and put it all back together.

So I realized that although I don't have kids, I do have a niece that I think is absolutely adorable. She's about 7 months old now. She loves eating my necklaces - only mine though, not anyone elses! She always grabs hold of them and puts them in her mouth while staring at me... so here's a pic of her doing just that.
