I don't know if you can see the video but we are first place on T-Ball for Pearland Little League. We mercy ruled the last 4 games. 3 up and 3 down in T-ball on the video. My son is the pitcher.

Great defense for tball. Kid at third has a gun.

Nice. Agreed, that 3rd baseman was impressive.

Yes he is REALLY good. It is a toss up between him and our first baseman who is the best in the league. The crazy thing is that he plays in 2 leagues and his select ball team he is the 8th best kid on the team. Shocked

My Little One has tried out for and been selected to go compete in one of(arguably the best) hockey tournaments in the States(Chicago Chi-Town Shuffle) for a 14U team. Not sure how they'll compete, will be interesting. Girls here play on boys teams, girls teams are supplemental.
She was the C on her 10U boys team(stats unknown) & scored 32 goals & 12 assists(credited) in 17 games for her 12U girls team and was the leading scorer for one 14U girls team and with limited games, crushed on another 14U girls team she played on.
I'm excited for the experience, but maybe an eye opener? She's in the 5th grade, will be playing with and against girls that are great hockey players & Freshmen in Highschool.
GET IT ON!

Girls got SMOKED by Chicago Mission in game one 9-2.... That said, the Terrorist started the scoring to put the Lady Renegades up 1-0 and then scored their 2nd to get it to 2-3, before the wheels fell off.

That said, Chicago Mission is the #3 ranked Tier I(top classification) in the Country. Send 7+ girls to D1 programs every year.

Hitting the ice here shortly for 2nd game in tourney.

Nice! Not fun to lose like that, but the high level competition is good as it will only help them improve. Also a great motivator as know she knows where the bar is and how much she needs to improve to reach those top levels.

Our son is basically done with the table. We're going to do a spray polyurethane finish on it once we get it home. I think he did a great job on it and I'm proud of him.

So, our son is done with the table, with regards to class. We're going to do a few fine tuning finishing touches at home, then put the final finish coat on it. It's not going to be stained, but it will be cleaned up a bit more on the reclaimed wood before the clear coat. The competition was today. He got some great looks and questions just in the brief amount of time we were nearby. The judges gave him a perfect score 30/30, based on the criteria they were looking at. We're very proud of the work he did and the results. In the final competition results and awards, he didn't get anything, but he is the winner in our book and we have a piece of furniture to cherish for years.

table looks great okie - he (and you), should be proud! question for you - those 4x4 and 2x4 supports look super clean...definitely not framing lumber. can you tell (or link) me to exactly what he used? i've got a new fish tank stand in my future and want furniture grade wood, but never see 2x4/4x4 like that at home depot.

Thanks...yes...very proud. He did a great job. He used furniture grade dimensional lumber and did a build up to get the right size by surfacing and joining. All the wood on the legs is cherry. Do you have access to surfacing and jointing equipment?

Bummer. Yeah, the type of wood he got through wood shop would be what you'd find at a full lumber shop. I think a lot of what he got was 6/4 for the built up pieces that are the "posts" of the legs. The angled pieces were made from 8/4 if I remember correctly. You might be able to just get the size you need and not have to surface and join it to build what you want, depending on the size you are going for.

So, we got the tasks done at home we were wanting to do and got started on the finish. We're spraying the whole thing with a satin polyurethane finish. It is amazing to see the character come out in the wood, especially those cherry legs.

Tempus fugit, my friend.

Nick is a few weeks shy of 13. I still find it a little odd that he's not old enough drive a car, but he can buzz around the sky in an airplane.

Oh believe me it does. These ones were actually toned down after he was throwing his arms so far back he almost didn't get them back on the bars.

Then he decided to try nac-nacs-
