|
|
Hey guys, please help. I need a tower for less than $1000 that will fit on my 1980 Ski Nautique. Its narrower than the 2001s and so its alittle harder to find. any one have a good suggestion or pictures. it seems every time i find one and im ready to order it it wont fit.
The issue I am having is that my boat has a narrower beam than most. if you ride behind an old SN (pre 1981) and have a tower can you let me know what brand you use.
I have my eye on an Aerial Ascent tower but i was measuring where i think the front mounts will go at the front outsides of the windshield and i think the tower will be too wide based off of what the specs are. I also looked at monster towers and big air towers but i cant get pics of them on my boat and i dont know if they will fit.
thanks for the help. Im also open to buying you old tower if you want.

I have seen a number of the older 2001 series Nautique boats with a monster tower on them.
The aerial towers are similar to all the other entry level towers on the market that are imported from China. They are going to be the same basic design of the old Boss tower products.
Stangkiller on the site had a 80s Nautique. send him a PM. I think he might have even put his tower on and did all the research. Even made his own bimini for it. _________________ Wakeskating

easy-c, The only option I can come up with would be would be a Monster. Al the Aerial, Jobe, DIY Wake towers need 78" I believe which you won't have in front of the screen.
The MT1 looks great on your boat and at £995 it's right on budget

| Just speaking from experience, Moster Towers are simple, relatively cheap, and work great. Plus their customer service is second to none. |

I dig this one on BIGMAC's 2001. Not sure he still has it but I was scrolling through an old post to remember what looked best.

Monster towers are good product but I think they look hideous on 80's Nautiques. FCTII/New Dimensions are easily the best looking but pretty expensive. Though you might find a used one for <$1000 that you'll have to make fit to your boat.
A friend of mine has the same boat as you have and just bought and installed a tower on. I haven't seen it yet but I think it's an Aerial something... I'll send him the link to this thread and see if he can show some pics and give some more info. _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

| What I did to get a narrower tower was cut about 2" off each side of the "H" part of the top of the tower. I used an automotive exhaust tubing cutter to make a clean cut. This allowed me to position the front legs on the inside the hand rails on the front of my Malibu Sunsetter. |

Hi, did you ever gt a tower sorted?
I have an '82 ski tique which I believe shares the same shape as the pre 2001 nautique. I currently have my eye on the Jobe 1.3 tower which is apparently the same as the Aerial Airborne, according to the Aerial site it's do-able:
http://www.aerialwakeboarding.com/v/vspfiles/wakeboard-tower/nautique/nautique.asp
Any ideas? I would be happy to chop part of the H section if required.. |
