hey guys I've been wakeboarding for about a year now, mainly just riding behind my family's bass boat so I'm not too experienced. However, a new cable park is opening about 30 min away from my house so I'm planning on taking full advantage of that over the summer. Anyway, currently I'm riding a fairly normal CWB board (not sure of model or year), it has small fins on the bottom, NOT the larger detachable type, but it seems like these fins would be a problem when hitting sliders and kickers. When I see videos of cable parks, the boards seem to be completely flat underneath. Do i need to get one of these flat bottomed boards to hit the cable park, and if so are there any decently priced, quality boards you would recommend?
tl;dr good boards for doing cable?
Thanks for any help |

It is not absolutely necessary to get a flat-bottom cable board, but the molded fins on your CDub might get chewed up and/or feel awkward on obstacles.
A flex board might make riding more fun for you on the cable and behind the boat. If you wanna check out some killer cable boards, I would start with a few of the following so that you can get a feel for the differences between brands:
-Slingshot (Response, Reflex, or Recoil, and Shredtown)
-Liquid Force (Watson Hybrid, Peak, and FLX)
-Ronix: (Phoenix Project or Phoenix Project-S)
-Hyperlite: (Union and Process, especially with the System bindings)
-O'brien (Paradigm)
-CWB (Vibe)
-CTRL (anything)
Of course, there are plenty of other great cable boards out there, but this list is a pretty good sampling in terms of brand, construction, flex characteristics, bottom features, etc. _________________ rally to the wake |
