Hey guys,
I just started wakeboarding a little while ago, I've been using the 2011 Hyperlite movite (really liked it) at OWC and now I wanna get my own board.
I've been thinking of getting one of these boards:
2011 Hyperlite Divine
2011 Hyperlite Eden
2012 Hyperlite Motive
2011 Liquid Force Angel
which one do you recommend? I just started wakeboarding so I'm not really doing tricks or anything, and I liked the continuous rocker on the motive. |

debpontes, If anything, I'd stay away from the Hyperlite Divine and Motive, they won't allow you much room to grow as you get more advanced and are very basic boards.
The Hyperlite Eden seems to be a mid-range board and will be great for you for a while. It claims to be built to help with specific edging situations which I personally don't like in a board because it can let you fall in to bad habits with technique by letting you get away with things that a regular board might not.
The LF Angel seems to offer you the most advanced features if you're planning on getting one board that will stay with you a while as you advance in the sport. If you're already comfortable standing up and turning a bit, this would be my vote out of all of the boards you listed. Also, I'm pretty sure it's the same (or similar) shape as a long-running Liquid Force model so it's tried and true.
You mentioned you ride at OWC, have you looked in to any slider specific boards? While most boards will take some abuse from rails/ramps, there are special, more durable, cable-park specific boards that might be worth looking in to if you want this board to last a really long time. Also, what type of riding are you looking to do. Boat, cable, a mix of both? |
