How the heck do you do that??? Sounds invovled!!! |
Not as bad as you would think. Just takes proper planning. |

Wish I could swing getting a new boat this season, but waiting will lead to a better boat. _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

I'd like to see some pics of that. Right in my range. I just hope that something perfect pops up this fall. The more I look the more the lsv appeals to me. Anyone out there with a 2003ish that thinks they want something else for next year? Also like those santeras _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

I'd grab the one in Milwaukee tomorrow if the timing was right. Thanks for posting those. I had found the Milwaukee one but not the Nashville. Do you use search tempest? _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

How much would i really have to sack out the maristar to get a good wake? What about adding a wedge? These boats just seem to be very affordable v drives. _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

Don't know about the weight but I would not add a wedge to a boat that did not come with one. The transom is probably not engineered well enough for it over time. A wake plate maybe but not a wedge and a wakeplate it not going to change size of the wake as much as the shape. |

I'm a novice Funkybunch could you or someone else educate me on the difference between a wakeplate and a wedge? _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

WEDGE: pulls rear of boat deeper into water with the drag of the wedge
WAKEPLATE: pushes rear of boat up when deployed down to prevent porposing.
Found this can it be confirmed? Also found that a wakeplate merely fine tunes a wake and does nothing to make it bigger, that in fact the biggest the wake will be is without the wakeplate operating. Is this correct? _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

Then info you looked up is correct. The plate works a little differently on every boat based on the hull shape. You will hear some people swear by them and others tell you its useless. In my supra it makes a big difference in the lip of the wake especially as you add weight. I have been on a few newer Nautique's and do not notice as much difference IMO. |

Ohh and a wedge as far as I know only come on Malibu's. I think Centurion had something called the switchblade for awhile but do not know well it worked or if it ever caused any issues. |

I think it might be a maristar saver for me, if i can sack it out so i can ride bigger wakes and then quickly tune it with the wakeplate so that the wifey(soon to be) and friends aren't forced to charge as big of a wake wake, as opposed to constantly filling and draining the sacks. _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

I have this same issue as well and normally have to be the first in the water or last depending on the time of day. I like to ride first in the mornings and the last in the evenings that gets me better water and the least amount of fill and drain time. The plate will help with making the wake not as steep however I have to drain my tanks before the girls can ride. |

Any maristar owners care to speak about how much weight they have to ride with? _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

That seems like a decent deal to me. There is one on planetnautique that was listed for 17500 with the same hours and a dual axle trailer. I'll post the link if I can find it. |

I have been looking at everything. I would like a boat that can put out a decent wakeboard wake and a decent wakesurf wake. I know i will never be a pro rider so i don't need a pro level wake but i do want a decent wake. It looks like your wife wants a v-drive. Is that a must or a preference? It is a very diverse field out there and many differtnt ways to go. Its all about how much money you want to spend and what you need/want. Let me know you are looking for a specific boat and i might have already found one for you. |

It's not a 100% must but it's pretty close, the seating layouts on the v drives are just 10 times better in our opinion, plus the advantage while surfing. I don't need a pro level wake either and am not set on a model, I'm very open in that regard. Just doing as much research as I can before I pull the trigger this fall, seeing what's out there and getting general prices _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

Ha ha ha, I know the owner of the Nautique Excel.
It's actually a good boat. It's seen lots of hours, but good ones. The owner was a great wakeboarder, and did take pretty good care of the boat. Yes, the tower is an abortion. Even he knows that, but that was one of the first boats around here with a tower, before Monster, New Dimensions, etc.
It's a great boat for a wake. And it was always filled with hotties in bikinis, so that's a win. That might have been the driver though, not the boat. |

The 205V looks nice. It has had a lot of work done to it though. Anyone know what a trailer would run on a mastercraft 205V? Maybe 2500-3000? |

Why are guys bothering to post in this thread? The op isn't going to be in the market until the fall. None of the boats being posted will still be around by then. Hahaha |

It is helpful at least as far as determining price points, but you are right I can't jump on any of these. People are being very generous with their help and I definitely have a much better idea of what to look for now. Wish I had the dough to buy your boat chattwake _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

Chattwake, You could use this thread to line up a buyer for your 2012 A22 and then you could have your 2013 ordered by Xmas. |
