is there a difference between the 2 as its same company different names?
could i be right in assuming its something to do with different designers in the same company?

All the same, they just changed the name back to Jobe last year. _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

Jobe was the name when Herb Obrien owned it. Not sure when the J-star came about but it could have been when it was sold to another company from down under?? If it says Jobe on it.....that means it is old product. _________________ Wakeskating

J-star was their attempt to separate their high end wakeboard from everything else they make. They have dropped the J-star name recently.
flixmaster, Herb doesn't own Jobe anymore? I thought the reason they stopped selling in the U.S. for a year or two was due to a no compete contract Herb had. Ronix made (or still makes) bindings for them too. It is kind of funny how many companies he has started and sold, that he named after himself or a friend in this case |

I talked to the Aussie at surf expo that told me he bought the company from herb a few years back. As far as I know Herb does not own J-star any longer. _________________ Wakeskating

probably a pretty smart move to bring a board company to Australia with the import costs everybody else will still have to deal with.
any word on Double Up? I have been searching everywhere for Lidberg's old pro model. My only hope seems to be if they bring back his board with a new name. |

Jobe is Dutch-owned now. J-Star was indeed their wake-division for a little while, but now they changed it back and everything is sold as Jobe again. Products are the same though. _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

Doubleup was bought up by the WetTech guy and then he packaged all that stuff up and sold it to the Archers.......or am I mistaken about double up? _________________ Wakeskating

Matt1808, no idea about Double Up. Lidberg is now riding for CTRL, so you might see a similar shape pop up there. _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |
