I'm looking at a 2004 Moomba XLV with 470 hours from it's third owner (hmmm). Are there specific things to look for on this boat?

If it were me, and depending on the asking price... find a Moomba dealer and have them look at it. If the seller has nothing to hide... then there should be no issue. I think spending a couple hunderd bucks is well worth it to make sure you are getting a solid ride. As for 3rd owner, it could just be that a couple folks bought it... then realized HOW MUCH WORK BOATS ARE! Smile

being a huge moomba fan (on my second one now) i would highly suggest you not buy the XLV unless you plan on just surfing. if you look around on the moomba and other forums they are know to have really terrible wakeboard wakes (from personal experince i agree) very hard to get them clean under 23-24 mph. really bad.
i would steer clear completely

I own an XLV and do NOT find the wake unuseable like Stangkilla said. There have been a couple people on the internet claiming the XLV is unrideable (YDM and SKSS). I have TONS of experience and videos posted if you want to check out the wake. You DO NOT have to ride at 24 for a clean wake.

Take it from someone who has put 350 hours riding behind an XLV, the wake is good when set up properly.

Stang Killa SS - I'm not trying to be sarcastic but have you ever ridden anything other than your Moomba?

Stang gets around. He has been behind more boats than his moomba...
