Which brings me to a question:

How do you guys eat leftovers all the time? The food never tastes the same, and many times, what was once a warm meal now you eat cold.

I know I'm a picky eater, but yuck, leftovers always taste awful to me.

If the world ends, I'll eat my ass if I have to, but not until then so leave the you're gonna starve one day out.

It really depends on the leftovers. Some are horrible, others are really good.

glass tupperware helps too

That's funny, I hate leftover pasta... it gets disgusting. Leftover potatoes I love.

Foot long club sandwich from Blimpies, Sun chips, and a Mt. Dew. Unfortunately I feel like I haven't eaten anything yet!

haugy, I guess it depends a lot on what it is and how you've stored it. There are some things that don't do well as left overs, like steak and chicken. Casserole and pasta type dishes tend to do well and that's usually what I have as left overs. A lot of times I'll do leftovers into a new meal. For example, let's say I make a big roast in the crockpot. A couple days later I'll use the meat and make beef enchiladas or we'll do shredded beef tacos.

It can all boil down to taste, though. Some people just can't stand having leftovers.

or...

maybe you're just doing it wrong.

I crush leftovers. Potatoes hold up if they are mashed, but fried or baked they don't do the trick. Love chinese leftovers and cold pizza especially. What I don't understand, and maybe goofyboy can shed some light, how people eat imitation crab. That stuff makes me want to puke.

Just downed some leftover giant drumsticks, originally grilled then baked buffalo style. I love leftovers that get hotter the longer they sit. I usually zap a bag of steamed veggies as well.

I love eating leftovers period. I think the fact that I'm saving money trumps any taste issues the food may have. Proper Jew Game.

The reason why pasta and asian leftovers (especially chow mein or other noodles) tend to get better is the sauces lose moisture in the arid fridge and the flavors become concentrated.

Nothing better than my mom's leftover sauce. The fridge zaps just enough of the moisture out and the sauce gets thicker and richer. Drool...

I don't know... my pasta tends to just turn hard and nasty.
I did some fried chicken a couple weeks ago that were awesome as leftovers. Sometimes french fries as better cooled in the fridge overnight

For lunch I ended up going with kielbasa sandwiches.

ontrider, yeah we know you like the kielbasa. Colorful

Add water to the container before you reheat pasta in the microwave and put a loose lid on it.

^ can second what chavez said about the pasta, for fries you gotta throw those in a toaster oven if you want any chance of saving them.

had a steak philly and fries. Wasn't going to but it was next to the bank and I haven't been there in forever. Add in a few hard boiled egg whites and raw almonds for a snack and I'm good for the afternoon.

Jimmy John and his crew were the hunters in camp prior to me and my Canada hunting trip this fall. The day he packed out (same day I arrived), he called his pilots (waiting with the G5 in Ft. Nelson) and told them to fly to Chicago and pick up some sandwiches that would be delivered to the hanger.

They landed, picked up a box of sandis, and flew them back up to Ft. Neslon then had them driven to the lodge (another 2 hrs away) and we all ate JJ sandis that first night.

He paid $120,000 to have him and four execs. hunt stone sheep and he stayed in camp the entire time.

For sure!

I made the Macaroni Grill Penne Rustica recipe not too long ago and it seemed like it just kept getting better with time.
