Just wanted to say hi, I just joined the boards. Name is Nick, I'm from Baltimore and have only been riding for 2 summers. Been using a terrible old hyperlite w/ sandal bindings behind a rickety I/O but got the wake to wake down. Plans are to upgrade the board and bindings for this summer with the intention of upgrading the boat in Nov or so. Just quit smoking to fund it, so we will see. I have been reading the boards a little and I am excited to get a bunch of great knowledge from everyone here. I would also love to meet people in the area if anyone here is from MD. Doubtful though because there doesn't seem to be much of a wakeboarding community where I am. Mods sorry if this is the wrong place, i just didn't see any type of place for intros.

Baltfrog, well congrats are joining and starting to wakeboard. I have been riding for about 3 summers now, but I live in Texas...This is a great place to learn anything you want to know about anything.

Welcome. There's lots of great info on the site so don't forget to use the 'search' button at the top of the page if you're looking for advice on something specific.

At the same time, don't hesitate to ask questions, especially about gear. Boards/bindings/tow devices are changing and updating all the time so there's always something new to talk about.

Thanks, I appreciate the hospitality! Hopefully I can pay it back by buying a bunch of everybody's old gear and someones boat next winter

Hi Balt Frog! Welcome! Congrats on the smoking thing. I assume you were a 2 pack a day guy? That is for sure a boat payment... and a nice boat too!

Thanks Chawk, bout a pack a day, plus cigars and other extraciriculars looks like about 8 grand a year, i figure i'll try to put that down and finance another 8 or so. I don't need 8 subs and 12 speakers and brand new upholstery. I just want a rig that will throw a decent wake, and starts when i turn the key. Don't need a showroom beauty, i would actually prefer a boat thats been through a little bit (asethetically) as long as the engine is meticulously maintained.
