Finally got to ride yesterday for the first time in over a year. We were riding behind my 2003 Super Air Nautique 210, only ran about 5-600 lbs of ballast but had 10 people in the boat and half a tank of fuel, the wake was just right for not riding for so long.

Setup: Slingshot Lyman 144 w/ Slingshot D3 boots, right foot forward feet slightly ducked.

The first thing I noticed about this board is that it is FAST. I was riding a 2009 Recoil 142 before this, and I felt my Lyman was much quicker. When committing to an edge the board took off as soon as I dug in. It required little effort from me.

Going right along with that speed was incredible edge hold. It was like I was riding on a track, it held it's line perfect every time, I never got squarely off the wake. And when I landed the shape of the bottom of the board helped me to stay on track with that same great edge hold. A lot of my jumps were taken to the flats and this board never washed out, there were a few times I was coming down pretty sketchy and the board got me out of it.

As far as pop goes, this board has plenty of it to go around. I was barely even trying to pop the board and I found myself in the flats quite a bit. I can tell that once I am back in my groove I will be jumping high and farther on this board than my Recoil or my One.

My favorite part was landing. Believe it or not this board has a lot of flex. Not as much as an 09 Recoil, but never the less a lot of flex. Landings were soft and smooth and the shape of the bottom kept me on track. Not one landing did I get sketchy and fall.

After the first ride I love the board, but I have a lot more riding to do to give a star rating or 9/10 but so far everything looks great. This make be the perfect mix of big wake and flex boards.

have you ridden a 2010 or 2011 recoil, if so how would you compare the level of flex? I'm guessing quite comparable but would like your $.02

I rode a 2009 recoil before this and it is definitely less flexy but it still has enough flex to give soft landings and press out on rails.
