I currently have a 2010 axis A22....Saw the Epic 23v as surf Expo think I may switch. What do people think about the epic? How about the Epic Neoprene interior? Will that hold up? Does any one have one in FL would like to try it out?

I have never seen an Epic boat on the water here in Austin, texas.
If you are going to use it for your club check the resale value of the Epic boats to make sure you can turn that demo boat when you need to get into your next boat.
Do you have an Epic dealer in your area? _________________ Wakeskating

No epic dealer met the epic VP of sales at Surf expo said he would work out getting me a boat. And we could handle the warranties through local dealers.

Try and find one to demo and see how you like it.. A great deal on a boat is good but if you cannot turn the boat when the time comes then you are still stuck with a boat you cannot sell.. Try and work with the dealer that you bought the Axis from...or see if Axis is willing to work a program out with your club also. _________________ Wakeskating

I always thought epics were sweet boats personally. Never had the opportunity to be on one but I like the mentality of the company and like that they do gravity fill ballast (purevert). Just last night I had to ride without any rear ballast because some leaves got sucked up in the pumps. Then I got to spend 30 minutes in the pitch dark when I got home picking leaves that were packed into my through hull and pump housings.
I would take a serious look at epic if I were you. I don't know how much have to pay out the door on one, but the used ones were fairly cheap compared to say a malibu. Compared to axis they'd probably be comparable assuming your out the door cost is similar.
I don't think there is anything wrong with either boat. There were one or two guys on the forum that had epics a couple years ago when I was asking around trying to find someone that I could demo behind theirs. Their impression of the boat was that the wake was sick and the boat was great. Of course they were wearing owner goggles so take it with a grain of salt, but the purevert system really turns me on personally because I hate pumps. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

| I can tell you that a friend of mine sold several epics that were traded in at the Miami Nautique dealer last year. He had to sell those boats for a substantial discount just to move them. I'm just not sure how good the resale is on them in certain areas of the country. I'm not hating, I'm just relying an experience a friend of mine had trying to sell a few used epics. |

Look familiar? I must have gone back and drooled over this thing a dozen times while we were at Expo. In case anyone can't tell from my crappy cellphone pic, that graphic on the side of the hull is backlighted. They can fab pretty much any design you want and light it up. Pretty fancy-shmancy.
The neoprene interior looks really cool, but personally I'm very skeptical. From vests to wetsuits to carseat covers, I've NEVER seen a neoprene product that didn't eventually fade from UV exposure.
We spent a lot of time talking to them about their R&D in electric hybrid powered towboats. From a commercial charter perspective this could be a HUGE savings since fuel is our single biggest recurring cost. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com

flixmaster, their website says "est. 2002" so yeah I guess that the 2012 model is a 10th anniversary. As I said in my previous post, I'm totally intrigued by the prospect of an electric towboat. The downside is that the 21SE weighs in at over 5000 lbs. and the 23' weighs nearly 6000 lbs! While that's good for the wake, its not so good for towing. The gas you save on the boat gets spent on gas for the truck. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com
