Hey dont try raleys till you can tantrum or back roll and 3 dude cuz raleys are really quite complicated. III have a friend who is an amatuer and he just won a comp in coonroe and he only throws tantrums 3's and 5's dude raleys are hard so make sure you got these toher things down and your ready.

I think that's not right...cause the raley is not a hard trick to do (it's an easy one concerning the tecnique but a hard one concerning the mental stuff).

so, the important thing is to cut in really hard and to have your weight behind the board (not on the tail but behind your heels).

you'll get flapped up automaticly. try to look into the boat and don't let go the handle...no rope no hope Wink

then pull the handle back to your hips and land it...

Yea but the pull back is hard when you have not landed a handlepass 3 thank you very much voegi. Get down your threes b4 you try a raley and if you have a cable park anywhere near you which I doubt but if you do try a raley there first its easier to load the rope and everything or do it off the dock cuz bringin the board back in is hard and the crashes really hurt.

when you edge in make sure you have the handle in close and you have your elbows bent, come takeoff let them out and look at the tower so you dont do a flip then good luck pulling yourself in Smile

some people have no idea what they are talking about. raleys are not hard, especially to pull down as long as you do them right. the pull down should come automatically with out much effort as long as you hold on and wait for the line to get tight.

man raleys are easy, keep in mind that your gonna eat it sometime... take a really hard progressive cut all the way threw the wake. this will get you extended. if you take a good progrss. cut the line will stay tight and the rest is common sense.

good luck and prove these lil sissies on here that they aint hard. Smile

id learn a tantrum first.... thats what i did.... tantrum frontroll hs ff, crow, then raley..... if you have a couple of inverts down, you will be confident in your ability. by all means, dont be scared of a raley, ive fell on more 180s this year than raleys. when you go to learn a raley, dont half tail it, go out there trying to land it the first time.... good luck Smile

What is dumassonwheels89 talking about? How is learning a 3 first every going to help you do a raley? He makes it sound like you have to pass the handle on the way down or something.

probably he's talking about a raley combinated with a 3 Laughing

no serious, you should come in an s t a y on your edge. without that, you won't be flapped up and do a "normal" w2w jump out in the flats Wink

cut in really hard (that's the scary part), pray, don't let go the handle and look Exclamation into the boat. If not, you'll do a laaarge rotation and with some luck, you'll come down onto your board (that's what I'm doing every time Crying or Very sad , but at least, it doesn't hurt Very Happy ).

good luck

voegi

make sure when you are carving into the wake you have your elbows bent and the handle in close and then extend them out - very important part of the trick

ok... ok.... after you listen to all of these idiots tell you little bull shat quirks about how they "think" a raley should be done, forget them.... half of them have never even done one. take a good edge in. DO NOT throw your arms out. your arms will extend naturally. they do this because.... when you carry a good edge into and all the way threw the wake, the wake itself will push your body out (if you let it.), and your body weight will extend your arms.

best bet is to go buy higher edu. or detention, so you dont have to listen to people who have no idea.

bizzuck: What I said was to make sure he had his arms and handle in tight, as far as extending them out and it comming naturally, yes.

Why did i say this? I have seen people try raleys and have the handle way out in front of them and go head first into the water. Just warning him.

If you can hold a good progressive edge from far outside the wake, Raleys are easy and fun.

If you have problems with a good progressive edge, don't try them yet.

RALEYS ARE NOT HARD PHYSICALLY. IT IS ALL MENTAL. DON'T GO INTO IT SOFT. CUT HARD AND ALL THE WAY THRU THE WAKE. GET BACK ON YOUR HEELS AS YOU ARE CUTTING, AND HAVE YOUR ELBOWS INTO YOUR SIDE. WHEN YOU CUT UP THE WAKE, LET THE BOARD THROW ITSELF BEHIND YOU. DON'T RESIST THE WHIP OF THE BOARD. LET IT GO TO THE TOP, AND IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY SNAP BACK UNDER YOU. JUST PULL YOUR ARMS BACK IN AS IT IS COMING BACK DOWN. HOWEVER, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE TRYING THIS BEHIND A NICE SIZED WAKE. LEARNING BEHIND A SMALL WAKE IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, AND NOT WORTH THE CRASHES. GOOD LUCK.
