So my husband wants this boat and I'm not so sure. We rarely ski anymore and our kids are wakeboarding, kneeboarding and wanting to learn to surf. Boat comes with a tower, open bow, pp, 500 hrs and is in pretty good shape. Just because it is local and a good deal is that a reason to buy it. Need to decide today or he is going to list it for sale.

Not sure what the question is here. Are you trying to buy a boat or sale a boat? Try to explain a little more.

The Prostar 205 is generally considered a very good hull for wakeboarding and surfing. If you think it will fit your needs and you think it is in good shape, I don't see a reason not to do it.

Sorry if I was unclear. We are thinking of buying it. The seller hasn't actually listed it as of yet. He is waiting on us. I think we are going to buy it tonight.

If it is in good shape and there are no motor problems, etc. then that is a good buy on that model boat. I would not expect the surf wake to be any good, but we never tried behind the 205 I had. Wakeboarding and skiing will both be good behind the boat with proper weight placement. I wish I would have kept my '93 and never stepped up to a newer boat.

At 9K I would expect it to be in good shape. 500 hours is reasonable for that price. Depending on how much you and your kids weigh, a direct drive is tough to surf behind. But overall the PS205 was the hull the original X-Star was built from. It's a GREAT wakeboarding hull.

It sounds like a good buy if it's in good shape and runs well.

Thanks guys. We just got home from the lake with our new PS 205. My husband looked like a little kid grinning from ear to ear. I think this boat will be great for us. Now for board racks, stereo and ...

I have that same boat, it is great. Let me know if you want a fly high fat seat and a front sac. That was my setup when we use to wakeboard behind that boat, but we upgraded to an X1 (almost identical hull).

Id be willing to sell you both sacs for $100 + shipping. Its the 1800lbs Fast seat and a 350lbs sac for the nose. The boat puts out a great wake with that setup.

Which tower do you have? I found some generic board racks on ebay for pretty cheap and they just clamped on.

Post some pictures of your boat when you get a chance.
