I just bought a 1988 ski nautique project;
It may need a long block and for sure needs manifolds
with so much aftermarket stuff out there (some good some bad) i was wondering what a good source for good indmar/PCM parts is. I have googled and found cheap stuff but i know cheap is not always as good.....
Thanks,
Eric |

I would buy any mass builder long block, those things are junk and they use the cheapest parts possible and reuse as much as possible, way beyond what I ever would.
If you're mechanically inclined find a local machine shop to do the machine work and do the assembly yourself. It's not too difficult and you'll have a better engine for a lower price. If your block is cracked from freeze damage I'd buy a 351w from a Ford pickup and build it. |

Thanks for all the input.....
Got the boat running today and ran great. The electrical problem it had seamed to be a cheap starter solenoid. It would stick in start position. We took it apart and the spring just seamed like it was too weak to pull the contacts apart after turning the key off. We put in a more quality solenoid new battery cables and worked great.
Super stoked that the block might not be cracked. There were a couple freeze plugs out and mani's are cracked but no signs of cracks in the block and no water in the oil after 15 min on the hose. It still could be cracked in the intake valley or inside somehere..... well see when we go out saturday and put a load on it.
Are sierra, barr, osco any good for manifolds? |

| We have an 86 ski nautique and have bought all of our parts from Skidim. Fortunately for us, they are local but you can order from their website www.skidim.com. They have outstanding customer service and you can even call of you have questions about how to fix something and they will talk you through it. |

just ordered Barr mani set. A boat mech of 20 years said he hasnt seen any more issues with barr than Pleasurecraft. he said salt and freezing are there worst enemies no matter what brand you go with.
they came with mounting hardware and gaskets for riser and manifolds. |

so found out that Barr manifolds do not work with Pleasurecraft risers . From what i found barr manifolds and riser will interchange with Indmar but not 100% sure on that. |
