Hi guys im new to this I just moved to Las Vegas so Im pretty close to lake mead and actually got up on a wakeboard for the first time last saturday. and I have to say...im hooked!

Anyways. when I ride a skateboard, snowboard, surfboard, snakeboard I always ride goofy stance. this is just where I am more comfortable but on a wakeboard I can only seem to stand up in regular stance when I try goofy I cant help it I lean to far forward and just take a header in to the water. but regular no problem I actualy just started trying to adapt and was able to carve cleanly at the end of the day. but I feel id be more comfortable goofy since thats what Ive always ridden. any suggestions or tips on how to try and lock in getting up goofy. or get up regular but switch to goofy while up i dunno. im a noob...I fail ha ha

Thanks in advance![/list]

TheEvilPenguin, Sometimes people just end up better riding opposite foot for different things. Danny Hampson (wakeskate legend) was kind of like this. He used to only do "switch" kickflips because that's what he was used to skateboarding. He rode wake to wake mainly riding regular though because that's just what he was used to.

Basically, do what's comfortable now. Once you get used to surface 180's, you'll be that much further ahead in knowing how to ride with either food forward!

I would say keep going with what you are doing. It keeps you up and you will get used to it.

I've been riding with my right foot forward for 15 years, just this year I started forcing myself to ride switch. It was difficult, but is starting to help me gain more balance and allow me to progress my jumps and spins. Why did I wait so long! Stick with it!

Every run, I spend at least 2-3 minutes riding switch. I'm still not comfortable with it, but it has been getting better. Doing surface 180s is easy, it was the first "trick" I learned.

It's strange that you say you put too much weight forward and take a header though, I can put 100% of my weight on the forward foot and it's perfectly fine. Is the boat pulling you fast enough? Should be 15-22mph (slower for learning, 18-22 for normal riding)
