Hey designing a winch drew these up today just checking what you guys think. Either going to me 1/8 3/16 or 1/4 inch t6.

Both plates have 1/2'' holes for 8 or 6 inch ID
Both have 1.5'' center hole with 8 on 3'' bolt pattern for hubs
Outer holes on 14'' plate are 3'' and 1.5''
outer holes on 12'' plate are 2'' and 1''
spool picture is 14'' plate with 8'' id and 6'' wide

first is the 12'' plate
second 14'' plate
12'' plate would weigh .9 lbs outa 1/8'' aluminum
14'' plate would weigh 1.05 lbs outa 1/8'' aluminum
plan is for 600' of line would like the option of 1200' on occasion
trying to figure out width of spool thinking 6 for the 12 and 7 for the 14
any comments or ideas or design changes.
If you would like to see the design changed up a little would take no time at all so im open to ideas

I usually tie rope to axle in the middle but it doesn't really matter, your design might be expensive as it looks time intensive, with waterjet or laser, time = cost

Sent out to a few waterjet places and got quoted for 100 a pair could get it down to 50 a pair if i made 10 pairs

learning a new program master cam. once you make a part it comes up with the programming for cnc machining and from what i hear thats where 75% of the cost of cnc comes from. I have a buddy that works at a machine shop and says he can mill it for the cost of materials and machine time. So now i just have to get the programming done so i can get a quote

dont think ill finish it up by the time it gets cold but as long as its ready for late spring ill be happy
