So from the sticky "budget wake boat" I pretty much know what boat throws a good/great wakeboarding wake. That being said, which(if any of these) throws the best wakesurfing wake? Is there another boat that is not on the sticky that throws the best wakesurf wake? In logic, the boat that has the most freeboard would be a winner, but I'm sure that's not always the case. All advise is appreciated. Just keep in mind this is a "BUDGET" surf boat, no $20,000+ boats please.

If you just want to surf don't get a 2001. If you want to do a little bit of everything I think it's a great option. You can definitely surf behind it, just need to be cautious driving it. Here's an old vid where we were just getting the hang of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPdsH8ymoww

Ya not a big fan of the 2001. I think we will do about 50/50 wakeboarding and wakesurfing. I ride and surf behind a supra sunsport right now. the wakeboarding wake is awsome and the wakesurfing wake is ok. We keep trying different methods on the wakesurf wake. Does anyone know how the saltare and sunsport wakesurf wakes compare? Im guessing the saltare would put a nicer wake out since its bigger.
