Saw this one on the news last night. Unbelievable! I expect to see Sharpton and Jackson to be all over the injustice of this tragedy, Obama to hold a press conference, and Holder to push for a conviction. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Quote: | Mom Kills Newborn in Sports Bar Bathroom, Returns to Wrestling Match
A woman in Pennsylvania is being held without bail after she was charged with callously murdering her baby shortly after giving birth to him in a sports bar bathroom.
Local authorities say Amanda Catherine Hein of Allentown was at Starters Pub in Lower Saucon Township on August 18th with three male companions.
While watching a pay-per-view wrestling event, Hein suddenly complained of back pain and headed for the restroom.
It was there police say she quickly realized she was going into labor and soon give birth to a premature baby boy.
Though he arrived at least a month early, the baby was otherwise healthy, according to County Coroner Zachary Lysek.
The 26-year-old would later confess to investigators that she suffocated the child with a garbage bag, and left his body inside a toilet tank.
Covered in blood, Hein eventually returned to her party after a 40-minute absence, but refused to tell the men what happened.
She reportedly continued watching the WWE SummerSlam for another hour before leaving the bar.
A friend of Hein's said she refused medical assistance, claiming she didn't have insurance. None of the men had any idea Hein was pregnant.
According to Starters owner David Rank, it was a cleaning crew that found the boy's body inside the toilet the following day.
The identity of the father remains unknown.
Hein was subsequently arrested and charged with the intentional killing of a child under the age of 12.
If convicted, she faces a possible death sentence.
NBC Philadelphia points out that Pennsylvania's Safe Haven Law would have allowed Hein to turn her child over a hospital free of legal consequences. |

GEORGETOWN — Andrew Ray Jimenez was hungover and wanted to sleep. His girlfriend’s nearly two-year-old son wouldn't let him rest.
So Jimenez, 22, “became upset and frustrated with the child” and pounded on the toddler’s abdomen “until he quit moving around,” Georgetown police said. By the time Jimenez took the child to the emergency room at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital around noon Saturday, the boy wasn’t breathing and staffers were unable to resuscitate him.
Jowell Alvarado-Garcia, who would have celebrated his second birthday on Nov. 17, died.
Jimenez was charged with capital murder. He remains at the Williamson County Jail with bail set at $1 million.
Police say the boy’s mother, Monica Alvarado-Garcia, 18, was at work when her son was injured. When police arrived Tuesday evening to arrest Jimenez at the couple’s apartment on Luther Street, Alvarado-Garcia got in the way and became verbally abusive to the officers, said Capt. Roland Waits, a spokesman for the Georgetown Police Department. The young mother was charged with interfering with the duties of a public servant. |

I don't know why even check this thread any more. As a parent, it breaks my heart to read about child abuse and murder.
I know the thread title is just a title, but I think any kind of death penalty is too easy on child abusers. I think they should have to watch videos of kids playing on a playground and look at happy pictures of the kids they abused every day so that they can be eaten from the inside out with guilt and depression. |

My roommate's a cop, I get to hear bad sh*t like this from time to time that happens locally. Couple weeks ago there was a call at a guys house, the guy said his childs mother has his daughter on weekends, but he has legal custody and the mom hasnt brought her back. Well mom filed a restraining order against him, he cant call or go pick up his girl without going to jail. All he can do is talk to the lawyer about it. So cops go over there to see what's up and story checks out, except she's had her since APRIL! Girl is head to toe bruised and scraped up, needed attention. In the end girl goes to the hospital to get checked out, suspected abuse and maybe sexual abuse by the mom's boyfriend. Girl was like 9. I'm not sure I could go to situations like that with a gun on my side. Too much temptation.. _________________

Quote: | FAIRFIELD, Calif. (AP) — A teen father in Northern California is under arrest after police say he bit the nose off his 1-month-old son because he was frustrated with the infant's crying.
Fairfield police say 18-year-old Joshua Cooper was being held Friday in the Solano County Jail on suspicion of child cruelty and aggravated mayhem.
Police say they received a call Thursday by a distraught woman who said her baby was bleeding from his nose.
Doctors later determined the child suffered a skull fracture, a brain hemorrhage and that one third of the child's nose had been severed.
The child is in stable condition at Oakland Children's Hospital.
Police say they are still trying to determine how the skull fracture and brain hemorrhage occurred. |

Seriously. Why do we keep people like that. The US is retarded, we need to get rid of these people one way or another, or at the VERY least remove any chance of ever breeding again... _________________

Quote: | A Florida man suffocated his young, crying son so he could play video games on his Xbox and watch TV, sheriff's deputies said Friday.
Cody Wygant, 24, is charged with third-degree murder and child neglect. He was being held Friday without bail at the Citrus County Jail.
Sixteen-month-old Daymeon Wygant wasn't breathing when emergency crews arrived at the home Thursday morning. The child (was) pronounced dead at a hospital, investigators said.
"It is inconceivable that a father could kill his infant son -- it just baffles the mind," Sheriff Jeff Dawsy said. "Our only sense of relief now comes from knowing that we did exactly what we needed to do to bring justice to him swiftly. Our prayers go out to those who knew and loved Daymeon."
Wygant said he was frustrated because the boy was crying uncontrollably, preventing him from playing his Xbox games, according to investigators. He covered the boy's nose and mouth for three to four minutes until he became lethargic, then placed him in a playpen and covered him with bedding, which was tucked around the boy's body and head, officials said.
Wygant didn't check on Daymeon for five hours, investigators said, while he played Xbox and watched three episodes of the television show "Fringe." By the time he checked on the child, Daymeon had turned blue and was unresponsive, they said.
Wygant is the primary care giver for the child, and the mother -- Wygant's girlfriend -- was not home, officials said.
During preliminary interviews with the parents, they indicated the child had been placed in the playpen around 7 a.m. Thursday, officials said. But upon further questioning, Wygant said he suffocated the child around 1 a.m., they indicated.
The medical examiner performed an autopsy, but results haven't been made public.
Sheriff's officials said Wygant moved to Florida in 2013 and has no family in the area except for his girlfriend. Her name was not released.
They have a 3-month-old daughter, who is in the custody of the Department of Children and Families. |

Family of teen fatally struck by SUV sued by motorist for her ‘pain and suffering’
Quote: | As astonishing evidence of the raw appeal of the robes of victimhood, the female motorist who struck and killed a teenage cyclist 18 months ago is now suing the estate of the dead boy for more than $1-million.
According to a statement of claim filed in Ontario Superior Court last December by the woman’s lawyer, Sharlene Simon “has sustained and will sustain great pain and suffering,” including “a severe shock to her system” as a result of the crash.
“…her enjoyment of life has been and will be lessened,” the document says.
Also named in the $1.35-million suit are two other boys who were with Brandon Majewski when Ms. Simon’s Kia Sorrento hit the trio, and the County of Simcoe, responsible for maintenance of Innisfil Beach Road in the town of Innisfil, about 80 kilometres north of Toronto.
Brandon was 17 when, with his 16-year-old friends Richard McLean and Jake Roberts, the trio decided to cycle to a coffee shop late one fall Saturday night.
They were returning to their homes about 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 28, 2012, riding abreast along the two-lane paved rural road, when they were hit from behind by Ms. Simon’s black SUV.
Brandon took the brunt of the impact, and was thrown over the roof of the car; he was barely alive when paramedics arrived, and despite vigorous efforts at resuscitation, was pronounced dead about two hours later at the Royal Victoria Health Centre in Barrie.
Richard’s bike was struck simultaneously, and he was later transferred to St. Michael’s Hospital in downtown Toronto, where he spent weeks recovering from his injuries. The third boy, Jake, was knocked off his bike, but wasn’t seriously hurt. |

PARKER COUNTY -- Tips from outraged citizens led deputies to the owner of a dog that was found shot dead by the side of a rural Parker County road early Wednesday morning.
Tammy Green Douglas, who celebrated her 44th birthday on Friday, was jailed early Sunday morning on charges of animal cruelty. An affidavit said Douglas confessed to the crime.
She was freed after posting $3,000 bond Sunday afternoon.
The dead dog, described in legal documents as a four-year-old brown Heeler/Shepherd mix named Aowa, was found in a cage along Raley Road six miles southeast of Springtown with 10 newborn puppies covered in their mother's blood suckling for milk.
Aowa had been shot in the head with a 9 mm handgun.
Investigators were led to Douglas by a tipster who showed them a text message in which she allegedly boasted about the shooting. "I did what I did and I would do it again — if need be."
It was a school bus filled with Springtown students that came across the dead dog and puppies Wednesday morning.
Shelby Honeycut, 15, said he was on board that bus.
"I've never really seen something like that before," he said. "Why would you do something to a poor dog like this?"
According to an affidavit filed in connection with the case, Douglas acted out of revenge because Aowa had killed another dog that got too close to her litter.
“To a normal, caring human, this is an incomprehensible act,” Sheriff Larry Fowler said in a written statement. “I can’t imagine what the suspect thought these puppies did in order to warrant her actions. Animal cruelty can never be justified.”
A $7,000 reward was established for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Aowa's violent death.
The surviving puppies were taken in by the Angels and Outlaws Second Chance Bully Ranch in Hico, where they were accepted by two other nursing dogs.

A stone cold 18-year-old Texas teen was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for killing his mother with a hammer and then sexually assaulting her corpse.
It took Nueces County jurors less than an hour to hand down a life sentence to Kevin Davis, who two days earlier pleaded guilty to murdering his mother, Kimberly Hill, and turned down a 60-year jail term from prosecutors.
“The crime scene was like something out of a movie,” prosecutor Kim Gonzalez told KIII News. “The things that Kevin Davis confessed to doing to his mother and the way her hurt her weren’t things you see every day.”

Child found dead after being thrown off bridge; father arrested
Posted: Jan 08, 2015 2:04 AM EST Updated: Jan 08, 2015 9:34 AM EST
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -
A 5-year-old girl is dead after St. Petersburg police say her father threw her from the approach leading to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge early Thursday morning.
It happened just after midnight on the Dick Misener Bridge. A St. Petersburg police officer was heading home southbound toward the Skyway Bridge when he said a Chrysler PT Cruiser passed him going about 100 mph.
Once he'd reached the top of the Misener Bridge and entered the approach to the Skyway, the officer said, the driver -- later identified as 25-year-old John Jonchuck -- had stopped his car and appeared to be waiting for him.
According to the officer, Jonchuck said something to him, which he couldn't hear clearly, and then walked over to the passenger door, took his 5-year-old daughter into his arms, tucked her head toward his chest and threw her over the rail into the water.
St. Pete Police Chief Anthony Holloway said Jonchuck then walked back to his car and just continued driving over the bridge.
Two officers were waiting for him on the other side. They said he sped toward them, almost hit one of them, then continued heading north in the southbound lanes until Manatee County authorities used spiked strips to disable his car near the University Parkway exit.
In the meantime, the officer who witnessed the incident climbed down from the bridge in an effort to find the girl, identified as Phoebe Jonchuck.
Search crews from several agencies arrived to assist.
Two fishermen in the area told FOX 13 they were not far from the scene when it all went down. They approached the search parties, saw a flashlight coming from land, and were soon asked by a member of law enforcement if they would lend a hand in the search.
"He said, 'You know the waters; take me where you think she'll possibly be,'" recalled Bobby Hay, one of the fishermen. "So we ran right over where the tide was going one way, and the wind breaking the opposite way, where I thought she would be."
They received a call about 40 minutes later that the Eckerd College Search and Rescue crew had found Phoebe.
"We weren't far off," said Hay.
St. Pete police said Phoebe was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead. The chief said they don't yet know if she was alive when she was thrown into the water.
The officer told the chief he thought he heard her scream when it happened, but they are waiting for the medical examiner's report to confirm.
Phoebe was a kindergarten student at an as-yet unspecified Hillsborough County elementary school.
Police said John Jonchuck was taken into custody for questioning, but was uncooperative. He's since been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, aggravated fleeing and alluding and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle on a law enforcement officer.
Jonchuck has a criminal history, including several domestic battery charges in Hillsborough County, and a non-domestic battery charge in Pinellas.
The investigation continues.

Tracktor, the guy has been convicted of poaching in the past. he spotlighted this kill (attempted kill) - VERY sporting of him. he's a piece of shlt for killing rhinos and leopards and lions to begin with, so i'm not sure why i would need to wait for anything other than knowing he's hunting endangered species. |

I don't necessarily agree with sport hunting either. That said, it is legal in Africa and contributes a ton of $$ to local economies there. I do have a real issue with people getting all up in arms when they simply do not have even close to all the facts. You never have all but stop being lead around by the media.......................BTW,I don't think lions are an endangered species? |

no - what he did isn't legal. that's why there are 2 guys in jail and palmer is wanted back in zimbabwe.

they aren't. but rhinos and leopards are and polar bears are next up on the list, all of which he's killed.
edit: looks like the 2 guides have been released on bail
edit 2: more upstanding behavior on dr. palmer's part:
Quote: | Dentist who killed Cecil the lion was accused of sexual harassment by a former employee at his practice and settled out of court for $127,500
Dr. Walter Palmer accused by former employee who worked for Minneapolis dentist from 1999 to 2005
Complaint made claims married father of two was asked to stop behavior
However, the unwanted conduct continued and Dr. Palmer paid out in 2009
He was also required to complete a course in ethics after the settlement |
